Rescued this poor beastie from one of the water troughs this morning. Presumably trying to get a drink in the hot weather. The trough was almost empty due to a blocked valve, otherwise it would have been able to fly off easily. I'd no idea how light they are until I picked it up (wearing gloves!).
Doing my back in not being able to move my chair any closer to the desk...
It's my mum's birthday today. She would have been 86. Happy Birthday mum. Hope wherever you are now you can cool off your feet in the sea.

Blast from the past photo while I was looking for something else. Logie the Deer Dog and Chiswick the world's smallest Jack Russell. Both long since parted, but always ridiculous.
20 tons of topsoil for the garden delivered yesterday, about half of it spread already. The cats have never been so delighted….
The excellent @oivas.com has made me an awesome cover for the US self-pubbed edition of The Violent Hour. Should have a pre-order link soon for my lovely American and Canadian chums. Meantime, feast your eyes on this bad boy!
