Animal dork, oceans, science, space, photography, LIBERAL, American living in Canada, eh? 🇨🇦 Severely chronically ill, migraines, fibro, etc, recovering from cancer. #ElbowsUp
Didn’t buy a carpet runner that matches my dog? Yes. Yes I did.
“Escaped”? Or “released by irresponsible people”? How would a fish “escape”, exactly?
There are teeny tiny (somethings. Bees? Flies?) completely crazed about the astilbe blooms! I don’t know enough about either to ID, but happy bugs make me happy!
Bif Naked, Canadian rocker, and YES PLEASE! 🖤🖤🖤 #ILoveMyselfToday
If you’re in this northeast (southeast Canada, northeast America) heat wave, please remember to put out fresh water sources for the wildlife outside, including bees. A shallow dish with rocks or pebbles and water, so the bees can perch and drink without risk of drowning. Here’s a photo of mine.
A friend sent me this a couple of days ago. Describes my entire life.
Hey engineer types-please answer this for me. When the building is done how does the giant crane get down?
We haven’t had a day bear in a while, but we have had them!
THREE male rose breasted grosbeaks in the feeders this morning! I’ve never seen that happen before here. 🖤🤍🩷
This book by Sarah Andersen, called Fangs. It’s amazing!
That’s not even considering the (not inconsequential) financial costs.
I wouldn’t even know where to start. SO many. (I worked at an exotic wildlife sanctuary for 20 years). This guy (Woody) and I played tag on opposite sides of the fence hundreds of times.
I used to have a giant Doberman, who was a mush bag but also a bigtime alarm barker. He looked FEROCIOUS. The rare time we got JW people I just Guinness answer the door. It only took once.
Somewhere, in between here and there, are astronauts. 🌖
SO true! One tour a woman said, at every single enclosure, “can I get one of those?” “No”. Tigers, lions, jaguars, monkeys, lemurs, Eurasian lynx, everything we had. I finally Just said “you can’t have any of these animals. You can come visit ours any time we’re open”. 🙄 And this was our jaguar.
I actually have one, a Coolpix P900. It’s not as good as my D70, but I did take a picture of Saturn with it so I’m satisfied! Got it because of the arthritis in my hands. (That I’m not allowed to treat…)
No we are not! Our first bear encounter here was *undeniably* cute. Yes, I followed him around with my phone. NO, DON’T DO THAT! I worked with black bears and other large carnivores for 20 yrs. I never got close to him, and he was a little guy, probably 2 yrs old. SO CUTE!
