Sharing this super fun bike video from 10 years ago. I was biking along the beach in Santa Monica and was amazed when I saw this Dutch crew with very expensive gear biking with it as if it was not a big deal! I really admired them. I used to bike with a lot of gear but nothing on that level!

Holy crap! I was just listening to The Police's "Synchronicity 2" with my kid. I realized I didn't know half the lyrics so looked them up. My kid understood that the song was talking about the hell of suburbia. This is why cities are wonderful. This is now one of my favorite songs ever!

I've only been back #bikenyc riding a month+ and cannot believe I missed this addition to the greenway network! Wowsers, it really is incredible this 1/2 mile stretch was so tough riding with the family/friends, now it is so beautiful! I would have never ridden here with my kid, but now YES!!

A thing that blows this old guy away is seeing how much mapping programs show a changed NYC with great bus lanes, bike lanes & plazas. Seeing this for me feels dreamy. I recall in late 1990s taking a road atlas on #bikenyc rides and marking in pen any good routes that felt safe. All we had.

WHAT A CHANGE! After the big repave #bikenyc has been waiting for the protected lane return and it's here! Saw them filling in the #FreshKermit on Skillman residential section this weekend. Also: deployments of ample new trees going in along the route from 34th Ave all the way here! Nicer riding!

Today there was a Longest Table in Jackson Heights. Looks like plenty of people had some community, fun & EATS! I tested out my newest gimbal for first time so trying controls, lighting, sound, etc. Did alright.

Happy 15th to the QBB Greenway. Two collages May 2011 to May 2026. This area went from 100s of parked cars to a beautiful greenway/plaza where up to 10K+ #bikeNYC journeys occur daily to/from the Queensboro Bridge + LIC, Astoria & Sunnyside. This is why we build good things. Biking is up in NYC!

Seeing so many cranks saying it's impossible for NYC_DOT to put #Bikenyc Blvds on Bergen Street because buses run on it. Solution: in London inside LTN's (= bike blvds) there are "Bus Gates" which allow safe biking, bus & local access. NYC needs Low Traffic Neighborhoods. Why not start here?
