It had all the shades of blue
And was shaped like a needle
with a head bigger than its tail
And it was looking at me
Through the windscreen of the silent car.

I sat there, my arms along my torso
Not knowing if I had to wait
And so I just did.

 When a stranger knocks and pours,
For you to realize what you’ve
been overlooking,
You crash like a willow tree
from the weight of a two-weeks snow,
And try to remember your name in the first place,
For you thought you were someone else.

I saw the dragon weep,
Touched the dragon’s scales,
I reached to the fire
whose color I couldn’t make

The dragon and the phoenix both in sorrow,
Couldn’t merge into one yellow-blue sphere.

The contours and the shape, the likings
and the dreads.
I know the sunshine and the parts of the sky,
The engine smoke, all that’s left behind.

Europe needs rights, not a European ICE
Yesterday evening, the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) approved a new coercive and punitive deportation regulation, which will enable ICE-like measures. Yet another disregard of human rights.

ICE-like raids
The new regulation allows for home searches, going to the extent of including searches in "other relevant places".
The ICE metaphor is not just a metaphor anymore; it is the plan of this regulation

Deporting everywhere, no concern for human rights
The regulation modifies the definition of "countries of return", enabling the return to countries where people have never resided.
It also sets the ground for the establishment of prison-like detention centres built outside the EU.
Eroded appeal rights
According to the text, deportation would now be possible even before a final judgment on the case is issued.

Solidarity can and will prevail
The right and far-right continue to join forces to oppose human rights, voting together for coercive bills such as this deportation regulation.
We will never stop working and fighting until we build a fairer Europe based on solidarity, not repression.
