#9 Stratford Rise - S/T While I didn't enjoy this debut EP as the first time I heard it, the newest noise rock band to come out of the Windmill Scene still left me very impressed and excited to hear what they're capable of in the future. 8.1/10 Fav songs: Gunshow, Machine to Water

#8 Times of Grace - Neurosis I loooove metal that just sounds so textured & methodical like on this record here. Neurosis are pretty much the fathers of post-metal, & this album remains amongst some of their greatest. Bagpipes in metal music? Hell yeah! Fav Songs: Under The Surface, Times Of Grace

#7 Stranger In The Alps - Phoebe Bridgers A rare debuts where an artist immediately sets the tone & lets us know theyre here to stay. Smart/devastating lyricism paired with intimate folk/rock production = perfect recipe for becoming an indie darling. 9.4/10 Fav Songs: Motion Sickness, Scott Street

#6 Alice in Chains - Alice in Chains Lowkey... best grunge band oat... 8.9/10 Fav Song: Brush Away, Over Now

#5 Tusk - Fleetwood Mac Not as timeless as Rumours but still a great listen that keeps the spirit of its predecessor alive (minus the breakup context). It being a double album can lead to it feeling quite bloated at times, however. 7.9/10 Fav Songs: Sara, I Know I'm Not Wrong

#4 Veedon Fleece - Van Morrison Listened to this before Dogust and its what actually gave me the idea to do this lol. BEAUTIFUL record, Van Morrison is always better when he leans into his sprawling, progressive folkisms. His 2nd best record! 9.1/10 Fav Songs: Fair Play, You Don't Pull No Punches

#3 Hounds Of Love - Kate Bush What hasn't been said about this masterpiece??? Genuinely 1 of the best pop albums of all time, it weaves intricate and progressive arrangements and infectious pop songwriting so well, its a miracle this thing exists 9.8/10 Fav Songs: Running Up That Hill, The Big Sky

#2 Odelay - Beck Was excited to tap into this one.. but was left feeling disappointed. This record sounds pretty damn dated, especially on the hip-hop side of things. Which is a shame because there are some great tender folk-driven moments like on the closer. 6.1/10 Fav Songs: Jack-Ass, Ramshackle

#1 Parklife - Blur Super fun record! Damon Albarn is such a good songwriter, especially when it comes to fun earwormy hooks. Can be a bit too unserious at times with the shorter songs, but still a great listen through and through 8.6/10 Fav Songs: Girls & Boys, This Is A Low

The new Gorillaz album is definitely their most thematically consistent album since Plastic Beach... but I still have a soft spot for Song Machine and prefer that over The Mountain On first listen its a solid 8/10, massive improvement over Chopped Island
