My day job is doing artwork for the mobile game Egg Inc, which turns 10 today! Lots of in-game events happening, and I made this set that turns all the buildings into cake! 🎂

A 3/4 view of the Egg Inc farm, but everything is vanilla cake with pink frosting on top. There are birthday candles on all the buildings.

A wonderful new #Crownfell review!

Love it! Great game with a really impressive amount of strategy, depth, and variety for so few cards. I bought the playmat with my copy. It's beautiful and makes setting up the game feel really special. I love that the base game is easy to throw in a bag and take to play with a friend, or I can set up the mat when I'm playing at home. A great game!

Happy Mother's Day! This is my first Mother's Day without my mom, so in honour of her, here are a few things I've learned from her:

THINGS I LEARNED FROM MY MOM

Choose joy
Following your passions is more important than making money
Sometimes that means taking risks
And sometimes THAT means failing.
Failing... is ok...
Choose JOY!
Celebrate the small things.
Appreciate the big things.
Love... your family.
There are people in the world who are DIFFERENT from you, in ways you can't see... or even imagine. THEY are your family.
EVERYONE... is your family.
Laugh often. And loudly.
Always be honest.
Things WILL NOT always work out the way you want them to;
CHOOSE. Joy.

The 10 commandments of game design

1. Thou shalt not compare thyself to other designers; a game is a game.
2. Thou shalt never say, "I am not a designer". If you are making a game, you are a designer.
3. Thou shalt not covet they neighbours' awards, equipment, or skills.
4. Remember to take breaks; it's ok to set a design aside for a while.
5. Thou shalt not put thy first game design on Kickstarter.
6. Thou shalt not forget to hydrate.
7. Thou shalt playtest, playtest, playtest.
8. Thou shalt acknowledge the designers who have come before you, respect their work, and learn from their experience.
9. Thou shalt pay it forward and help new designers on their own journey.
10. Thou shalt enjoy thyself; if designing games givest thy soul grief, give it up and take up... well, anything, really.
