It's telling that this guy is doing a victory dance even when he lost. Even he recognizes, implicitly, that he helped take something preposterous and get it four votes.
Even Trump, with his iron grip on the MAGA faithful, can't fully control the right's radicalization engine. And he's going to be gone soon. That means the future of the right is wide open — and absolutely nobody can say where it's headed with any confidence.
People like Rogan and Shapiro are drying to draw lines: to assert the power to determine which forms of conspiracism and extremism are acceptable on the right, and which aren't. The problem, however, is that they misunderstand the movement they helped create. As @sykescharlie.bsky.social told me:
