Here's what the landlord lobby don't want you to know: If rents went down by 20%, renters would save £2400 a year. The government would save £2 billion a year. And landlords would still make 4.5 times as much profit as the average business.

I've seen on the streets how powerful even the idea of rent controls are that give people so much hope! Pleasure this morning to help launch a report by the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and the New Economics Foundation into making them a reality.

Can Burnham say that war crimes, let alone genocide, has occurred in Gaza? Being clear on this is the most basic first step. Without this, Labour hasn't even started its journey to rectifying for years of complicity and participation in this genocide.

A fundamental part of being an excellent Mayor is solidarity and community. Palestine is facing a brutal onslaught and I'm proud that Geraldine Coggins - Green candidate for Mayor - is showing clear international solidarity.
