Giant film nerd. Ask me anything!! Techno/DnB/Emo dj I guess c:
Love Exposure (2008) dir. Sion Sono Honestly, they should have stopped making films after this one. An epic rom-com drama action film that has literally everything; Kung-Fu, Yuri, Crossdressing, Panties, Lust, Betrayal, Cults,... Too much to put down, this literally does not spoil anything. (11/11)
A very slow burn that's extremely intricate, seeing everyone their connection with one another and all the different kinds of relationships hits on a different level. It's just, a unique experience. But damn, did it hit where it was supposed to hit. There's too much to unpack, please watch. (10/?)
Sometimes all you really got to do with a person is let them be, let them be themselves more specifically. Trying to change the way someone's brain is wired is nearly impossible, but if you somehow manage to, they will become a shell of themselves. Never able to go to the way they were before. (9/?)
Autumn Sonata (1978) dir. Ingmar Bergman Just a mother and a daughter talking about life. First half being as MASSIVE setup for the second's half pay-off. Two people talking haven't felt this engaging to me and most likely never will, the relationship they have is deeply emotional. (8/?)
The Killer (1989) dir. John Woo An unlikely bond forms between a cop and a killer. This is a very fun, exhilarating, thrilling, melodramatic gun-fu film from the late 80s. Very much one of the greatest action films of all time. Choreography is superb, and everything just feels like a dance. (7/?)
Memories of Matsuko (2006) dir. Tetsuya Nakashima Tragedy masked as comedy. I absolutely adore everything about this. It full on is an anime, but live action, done superb. Stylish, fun, sad, drama, musical, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. This is one that I heavily recommend. (6/?)
At just shy of 4 hours, this movie solidifies itself as my all time favourite. Cinematic masterpiece from every single standpoint. Sometimes it’s better to stay here. Since this is the only place where you can actually learn to live with your problems. (2/?)
