Day Six, Pt. II - Home at Last And that’s the lot! What a week - Busbie’s home safe and well, as am I! Many new memories to cherish thanks to this journey - Welsh Narrow Gauge is always a joy! I wonder where we’ll go next year. Perhaps a North of England Roadtrip is due next…
Day Five, Pt. II (BONUS 2) A video of myself operating the Wren!! The driver very kindly let me blow the whistle too! My left ear will never forgive me-!
Day Five, Pt. II (BONUS 1) A video of myself operating Winston Churchill on ‘Making Tracks’!
Day Four, Pt. II - Fairbourne Railway (BONUS) Forgot to share the Busbie photo I took at Barmouth..! Whoopsie~!
Day Four, Pt. I - Corris Railway (BONUS) Dad managed to get a video of me assisting the crew with the traverser! 12 1/2 tons of narrow gauge diesel - not bad, eh?
The more you build them, the more forgiving they become - and I speak from experience having built several open wagons by H. Jones for the Horse and Cart! I’m quite tempted by these vans - can they be assembled with doors on both sides, or is it only one sided because of the brake handle?
In no uncertain terms, I can safely say my first year of being a 16mm modeller has been the most wonderful experience I have ever had. Gerry may be my first loco, but certainly won’t be my last. Maybe I’ll make a video about my first year in this hobby - to show you what the experience is like…
Tomorrow, the 21st of July, will mark one whole year since Gerry’s first run on Llechfan - when he was little more than a 3D Printed Shell on steel wheels and roller bearings - practically a ghost..! I think you can agree he looks very smart now, running with the Horse and Cart under his own power…
Today’s the Craven Arms MRS - and Plas B is running a special time table for its ‘Goods Gala’, featuring some special guests… Come and say hello!!
An additional thank you to @colloquial-kayak.bsky.social, @mrjoj.bsky.social and Raz for the full compliment of Gerry’s faces! He looks absolutely fantastic!!
The rest of the show was great too! It was my first time actually attending the NGRS, so everything was very new to me - thank you to everyone I met for making it a great day!
He even got to pull the Horse and Cart for the first time! Very happy with how he performed! (Thank you @mrjoj.bsky.social and @insane-edward.bsky.social for letting me borrow their stock for this!)
A week following his appearance at the CHMRC Open Day, Gerry made his way to the National Garden Railway Show - and he reunited with some old acquaintances!
I’d also like to give special thanks to @mrjoj.bsky.social, @colloquial-kayak.bsky.social and Raz for… Gerry’s face!! There are more expressions on the way, but Joj very kindly got his simple smile ready in good time - now he’s really looking like the MSR’s ‘Gentleman Soldier’!
Allan of Grainge and Hodder has recently acquired a new layout with SM32 track! Once the Gunpowder Wagon was painted, I was invited to operate on the layout - so massive thanks to him and CHMRC for hosting the event!
Didn’t get the chance to post this yesterday cause I was so busy, but yesterday was the CHMRC’s 40th Anniversary Open Day! I brought some 16mm stuff along for a painting demo and got more than I expected…
Is it perfect? No. No, it is not. But it's one of those things that's 85% good, with the potential to be improved. I eagerly await DTG's planned 'feedback' update, as well as whatever future expansions they choose to bring us. Edward and Henry are a must, but who else do we think should be put in?
So, I finally tried out Wonders of Sodor for myself after vicariously living it through @vampymix.bsky.social's 'lost-a-dare' stream. If you couldn't tell, I adore this game. It's a genuinely fun experience no matter how you play it, and it's clear the team behind it put significant effort in.
Aaerym here with mid anger! The rare time anyone ever sees him angry… when they’re his quarry…
Pretty nice day, all things considered! Plas’ next major outing is in July, so away it goes to hibernation….
I’m also operating alongside the Cradley Heath MRC - who are operating Halfway (7mm Narrow Gauge) and Titfield: The Next Chapter (4mm/00). Do give them some love too!
Plas B is out again - this time at the Blackheath Show! We’re running Chartreuse Timetable today, with our three star residents and a few special guests - so come say hello!
A little editing test featuring my new model of Gerry, @mrjoj.bsky.social's Enfys and rolling stock from himself and 82M Studios. Annoying that Bluesky's limit is 720p, but oh well. Music is "More than Truth" by Masayoshi Soken, from Final Fantasy XIV. SFX are from G.W. Shunter & TheGermanOfSodor.
Special thanks to @mrjoj.bsky.social for the construction of my first 16mm Locomotive - MSR No.5 “Gerry”. His final intensive loaded test was completed today and the handover has been finalised. “I’ll do what I always do. I’ll stand and fight.”
I can see the vision, in a way? But does a large engine like the Thompson B1 fit the bill for Molly? Hear me out here. We can compromise on a Thompson engine, but what if you went for one of his modifications? Specifically, his modification of “The Morpeth”, a D49?
Plas B is out again - this time for a ‘Goods Gala’ at the Wombourne Model Railway Show! Come say hello and see our fleet - bolstered by a couple of special guests…
