We don't really have That many big studio dinosaur movies outside of that one franchise, so it's great to see #EndOfOakStreet deliver on its wild premise by way of fun setpieces, a sense of humor, and some really mean dinos. My review via We Live Entertrainment - tinyurl.com/y64e2c2n
Had a great time this past weekend in SF for Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park. Favorite Sets: The Strokes and Clipse Favorite Discovery: Durand Bernarr Favorite Surprise: Charli XCX joining The Strokes to sing lead on one of their songs
Even with That franchise in mind, I’m always quick to note that we really don’t have that many mainstream dinosaur movies. That in mind, #EndOfOakStreet will make you hate dinos in a good way. 👍🏾👍🏾
This week's recap has new reviews for Tony, One Night Only, and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma - basically a lot of sex & candy. Plus podcast episodes. Thanks for reading/listening! tinyurl.com/2za6ytn9
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, from the director of I Saw the TV Glow, provides a sorta sidestep around horror remakes, delivering a very entertaining, well-made, and complex take on horror and self-identity in the process. Loved it. My review via We Live Entertainment - tinyurl.com/bdvmfr9f
Time for our spectacular #SpiderManBrandNewDay @outnowpodcast.bsky.social episode with @walrusmoose.bsky.social and me, along with guest @ethananderton.bsky.social. Enjoy! tinyurl.com/mrxwa97w
Spider-Man, Anthony Bourdain, and Avatar Aang all Want Your Sex this weekend...sorry, they want to see the Gregg Araki film I Want Your Sex. I have reviews for all, Comic-Con podcasts, and more in this week's recap. Thanks for listening/reading! tinyurl.com/wcy5rudy
Here's a wild batch of reviews - comedies, sharks, pickleball, and more. I call shotgun! Reviews for I Want Your Sex, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, Motor City, The Dink, 72 Hours, and The Devil's Mouth via We Live Entertainment - tinyurl.com/yjumxvpp
New @outnowpodcast.bsky.social episode here, with @walrusmoose.bsky.social and me talking all about this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Enjoy! #SDCC2026 - tinyurl.com/38y4s977
Before heading into Comic-con, made sure to check in with my good pal Godzilla.
Last week I saw the music of Wes Anderson in concert. This week, following a 30th-anniversary screening of From Dusk 'til Dawn, Robert Rodriguez, his band, Chingon, and his daughter, Rhiannon, performed a full set dedicated to his films at the @academymuseum.bsky.social.
We really packed this week's episode of @outnowpodcast.bsky.social - Evil Dead Live with @billbria.bsky.social and Prof. Mike D, Moana with @walrusmoose.bsky.social, Games, Listener feedback, and more. So much going on! - tinyurl.com/5n89kwnm
Christopher Nolan follows up a major peak in his career with #TheOdyssey, an incredible fantasy epic that pushes past whatever minor quibbles I may have thanks to sheer spectacle, and yet is still topped off by terrific performances. My review via We Live Entertainment - tinyurl.com/4sxvuk8e
Big shout-out and thanks to @firstshowing.bsky.social for shipping me a few international posters of The Furious with my name on them, all the way from Germany! #dankeschön
Introducing my new arachnid friend/roommate - Kumonga! She is a Mexican redknee tarantula. I’ve named this one after, of course, the kaiju who first debuted in 1967’s Son of Godzilla. Enjoy her bright colors, but don’t get too close, as she can kick her hairs at you.
My last experience with Sam Neill was watching him in Jurassic Park with 1,000 others outdoors on the 4th of July, and seeing him get a round of applause just for this line: "But that's not what I'm gonna do." As if we were all seeing a parent we'd want assure us everything will be okay. RIP
A remake, a sequel, and a doc walk into a bar... okay, so that didn't happen. But hey, new reviews (Moana, Evil Dead Burn, Mockbuster), commentaries, and more this week. Thanks for reading! tinyurl.com/25ywa97h
New recap here, with reviews for Minions & Monsters, Young Washington, Enola Holmes 3, and more. Plus - favorites of the year so far, new podcast episodes, and other fun. Thanks for reading/listening! tinyurl.com/4ebb225b
Here's a wild batch: Reviews for Young Washington, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, Enola Holmes 3, Little Brother, Voicemails For Isabelle, Earth, Wind and Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That's the Weight of the World), Strung, and Stepfather via We Live Entertainment - tinyurl.com/49rxw5er
We had plenty to dig into on this week's @outnowpodcast.bsky.social concerning #Supergirl with @walrusmoose.bsky.social and guest Alan Aguilera. Enjoy! tinyurl.com/mr4889nb
Watched Evil Dead Burn tonight. This has remained a consistently fun, brutal, and darkly humorous horror franchise. Director Sébastien Vanicek certainly brought a very welcome French sensibility, the editing style is a lot of fun, and there’s plenty of gnarliness.
Somewhat by default, #MinionsAndMonsters is the best one of these so far, thanks to its attempts to pay homage to classic Hollywood. That said, it's still the same Minion schtick, for better or worse. My review via We Live Entertainment - tinyurl.com/mtny72pt
The Roots have been one of the my absolute favorite groups for years, and I finally saw them live for the first time tonight. The legendary crew put on a spectacular show at the Hollywood Bowl with Nas, De La Soul, T.I., and Talib Kweli.
New recap, new reviews. I have write-ups for Supergirl, Jackass, The Invite, and more. Plus, new podcasts and other fun. Thanks for reading/listening! tinyurl.com/277xx4yv
