Out on my bike before the day gets too hot. Getting autumnal and August hasn't even arrived!
The first time I have ever been happy to visit the dentist - they had air conditioning and it was wonderful!
I have just finished reading The Outrun by Amy Liptrot. A hard read in places because she is very honest and her life was out of control and it was very hard stop her downward spiral. I have always wanted to visit the Orkneys and even more so now. Beautifully written.
This is the Met Office forecast for the week - I am not going to get much done.
We went to the Antiques and Collector's Fair at the Bath and West Showground at the weekend. It is the first time I have been to anything like that - it was vast, very well organised and most interesting. This was just one hall.
I would suggest using them to make card holders. My grandchildren have small hands to hold cards but this makes it possible. As someone told me it can be useful for older people. I will try and link instructions.
A very good letter in the iPaper today. As an 11+ failure I can say that it adds insult to injury to be told 'you have been selected for a school that suits your way of learning'. Utterly ridiculous at that age. It was to do with number of places rather than ability.
It doesn't feel so hot today but perhaps it is because I have a nice shady spot with a breeze and it is early yet.
Time to stop pretending 11+ is about ability when money ‘buys’ you a place. A good article in iPaper today.
