I’m staying in Tutukaka in New Zealand’s Northland tonight. This is the view from the deck of the “shed” I’m staying in.
I opted for the all inclusive catering. I guess I’d better keep you all posted through the day.
Arrived in Auckland late last night. Now setting out on the Northern Explorer to Wellington.
This is our former neighbours lovely dog howling along to sirens passing by in the neighbourhood.
For those who care about such things, this 8th birthday DIPA from Polly’s is absolutely lush.
Not sure what you’d make of American Airlines (I’m at their lounge in Chicago) idea of a boulevardier. Since they had Campari I also tried 1:1:1. Which I preferred.
Back at Chicago’s Art Institute. Think of @frankpasquale.bsky.social when I see this.
Spotted at the Place des Nations in Geneva It is absolutely chucking it down, but even so the idea of actual swimming seems optimistic.
This is after setting up camp while kayaking in the Stockholm archipelago a few years back.
See what I stumbled across @itsmotherswork.bsky.social It is as delightful inside as you’d imagine.
On a related note, the same recipe works pretty well with very ripe raspberries. Wondering if it would work even better with a different spirit - perhaps a smokier Mezcal.
It is. Unfortunately wet slippery stone steps brought about my literal downfall a few days ago. I now have new bits of metal in my ankle. So I’m getting a different view of the city. This was a brighter view from my window
Glad I was able to get to the track taproom before my train home from Manchester. Their (very) fresh Live For You DIPA is just the thing.
I’m reminded by my phone that lock down (five friggin years ago!) prompted me to explore some delightful spaces around where we live. Kept me sane.
Thinking of you @itsmotherswork.bsky.social ❤️❤️ (At Nottingham’s splendid Junkyard Taproom and Pourhouse)
So, the Nick and Nori was perhaps a better pun than cocktail. But it was genuinely interesting. I was hoping for the umami you get from nori in the cocktail itself. Which was savoury and good, but a bit lacking in depth.
Not silly as such, but quite engaging, and has worked really well with visitors that sort of age for us
Repost (if you fancy it) with the first album you bought with your own money.
