Rereading Persepolis earlier this year, I found one of the rubber bands from my middle school braces stuck between the pages showing Marji's Iron Maiden poster

Marjane Satrapi's work showed at least one obstinate teenage girl how much she had in common with every other obstinate teenage
girl in the world.
The man that bracesed girl grew into is very sad to no longer be sharing a world with Marjane Satrapi
