One of those “terrible cellphone photographers” I enjoy sharing the moments I have been so fortunate to experience firsthand. Life is an adventure! #hiking #biking #SUP #cooking #gardening Rarely not working on something creative.
I need to find some good recipes for very spicy (to me) purple peppers. They are growing really well this year in my garden.
#Water #BlueSkyArtShow I don’t know what I would do if I wasn’t close to water. I crave visiting the lakes and rivers to recharge.
My other boss grows lemons from seed like a BOSS! Mom was floored. I am impressed. One more golfer turned gardener from the social distancing saga of 2020. He still thinks most people are selfish and filthy creatures and he really isn’t completely wrong.
Walked a few creeks this weekend. This may have been the coolest find on Day 1.
The littlest lawn ornaments have discovered the lettuce in my flower beds. They trimmed all but the marigolds, sunflowers and peppers. I’m retaliating by going to walk up a creek with my best friend. I give up. Road trip it is!
I had lush thick green grass when I got home. Mowed on a cool evening and watered the next morning. This horrible dead patch has friends. Both in the sunny and shaded spots. The grass just up and died. I used 2 brands of lawn soil this Spring. Could it be a fungus? How do I stop/fix it? Help!
Final stop before home. I really enjoy this spot. It’s rarely ever booked and I sleep so well up here.
Stopped by the Corn Creek Marsh Discovery Centre today and will definitely be back to spend a day walking all of the trails. With an umbrella. It was getting pretty hot as early as it was. Heard so many new to me birds and saw these gorgeous blossoms.
I learned something new about maple trees today! So unexpected and super cool. I want to visit it this Fall to see what it does.
My Birthday Lily is a week early but the rest of the yard feels like it is behind. The rain is making everything so green!
A great customer reminded me today that I talked him into going on the KVR Trestles tour in July. So, I’d better start planning myself. It was such fun last year!
Well so much for keeping her out. My unwanted lawn ornament shrunk and got cuter…
How will eliminating Saturday service to the grey routes and Summer service to the black route help anyone who needs to use transit to commute for work? People are already forced to carpool or walk some distances to keep their jobs because they have schedules outside of the bus service.
The rain is starting to slow down but the flowers are just getting started.
Wind and rain showers make for the perfect bread baking conditions!
In an attempt to start some new plants for a friend I hacked off a bunch of vines and started them rooting in water. I put them into dirt last week and pinched off all but a few inches and those ends are now in water and just started to bloom. They are so dainty!
Some days I feel like running from technology and buying a pre-1970 vehicle. I was outsmarted by a button cell battery. I totally forgot that key fobs with low batteries are why my car won’t start but behaves normally otherwise. Time for a break with nature I think!
23° out so I annoyed the Merlins and tidied the yard. This spot has never grown decent grass so I spent hours building a spot to put in something to eat and some perennials instead. I will need to mow by next weekend. I’m letting the dandelions feed the bees first.
Second blooming flowers in the yard. The cherry is a few days away yet.
Trying something different for my migraines. I have lighter red ones I use for driving but these are strictly for at home. They really tone down the light reflections.
#WaterfallWednesday Missing this spot. Long overdue for a visit to dip my toes.
Took a walk in the coulees and found a crocus. They’re so easy to miss. Seems like they appear earlier every year.
Went for a drive to shop in Bragg Creek. Had a lovely walk around the Elbow Falls area. I renewed my K-pass and look forward to hiking and biking in the area again this year.
Storm is blowing in so I’m prepping the loaf of Italian herb bread I made yesterday for croutons.
Stew turned into making a loaf of bread to go with since I’m not sure that I want to make dumplings. These little pink potatoes are delicious!
My potatoes arrived and I couldn’t be happier! Making a potato salad for the week and stew for tonight.
Mom managed to sneak out to carve another snowman. The snow is coming down and it is supposed to fall and blow all night. Got to love a good Nor’easter in PEI!
Visited Okotoks last night on my way home and its famous big rock. Got rained on a bit before the wind picked up and I headed home.
Took a little road trip. I forgot how beautiful the foothills are. They are way too dry but the ground was at least moist. I came home to high winds and reports of several grass fires.
