A box of Punjabi samosas (deep fried pastry triangles with spiced potato stuffing) sits on a table. You can tell the box was full but only 7 remain. Next to it is a tupperware container with a red sauce and bits floating, this is the tamarind and date chutney that's traditionally a dipping sauce for the samosas. On the table are also a packet of hobnobs and a tray of crisps, wotsits and tortilla chips.

So it's official, my puppy is infinitely better at forward planning than I am. Here she is, cooling off in a hole that she dug in the winter. I promise I won't complain about your digging. Much.

Some times I believe that my dog is the prettiest in the world. Other times I know it.

The back of a spaniel's head from up close. She's a mix of coffee and white, with her ears and the top of her head being brown and the rest white with brown markings. The ears are mildly furry and she's mostly short haired but enough to not be wiry.

She's sitting on a dry lawn that's out of focus, so you can't tell that she's admiring all the holes she's dug in it.

In a post on X, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned against “adventurism and roguish behaviour” following reported US military attacks on Iranian vessels in the strait of Hormuz.

He said: “scheming and naive euphemisms such as ‘a light slap’ can do nothing to erase the profound disgrace born of narcissism, greed, reckless miscalculation, and lawless irresponsibility.”

“The consequences of this whimsical adventurism and roguish behaviour have now become clear to the entire world. Disjointed, delusional tweets no longer hold any sway over reality—though, as ever, “the deeper they sink into folly, the more inventive they become in justifying it.”

Never mind all what's wrong in the world, admire this amazing quiche I made yesterday. Spinach, mushroom and smoked cheddar with red onions and garlic in a (store bought) shortcrust pastry case. It tasted as good as it looks.

First time making using tangzhong! Japanese milk bread (2:3 whole wheat : bread flour). Didn't rise as much as a white bread would, no surprise, and I went light on the sugar compared to the recipe but it still tastes slightly sweet. Wife shouts from the kitchen "oh this is GOOD" so... #BreadSky
