More income was generated via annual dues coupled with creative ancillary fees. Individuals paid nine dollars per year at a rate of seventy-five cents per month. A propaganda campaign demanded each member contribute an additional dollar and fifty cents. The mandatory purchase of Mein Kampf and other prescribed reading brought in further dollars. Compulsory uniforms for rank and file and OD squads must be purchased from Kuhn-approved tailors. Bundists had to purchase various armbands, signet pins, and badges for auxiliary functions, which naturally required an entry fee. Items for home use, ranging from bookends to dishware to records of Bund choral groups were also mandatory purchases.
