The starter scenario has the allies try to take the island of Qeshm. There's still a 70% chance any crossing of the strait fails. Paratroopers will only hold so long without an amphibious assault. The one Trump wants to take is 100's of miles away. You cannot get a carrier group there.
Because I process things through play, I picked up GMT's Next War: Iran. Almost every scenario in the booklet assumes that the strait is already mined on turn one.

Man, I love #marathon 's art style and soundtrack. Weird off-primary color choices, chunky geometry, and electronic music that sounds like a moog eating a spreadsheet. Absolutely no interest in this genre of game though, and this beta didn't change my mind.
