Hmm not sure the person occupying the position of power should be praising how well this system works. Sounds like it’s designed to protect people in power from the consequences of wielding it. I wonder why that would be a bad message to send to your community as the Head of Trust and Safety!

Really wonderful analogy, and resonates with the modern design process: when we rush it like an assembly line, design becomes a task, and in the process we produce solutions that aren’t made for anyone at all.

In George Orwell's 1946 essay Confessions of a Book Reviewer, Orwell describes himself surrounded by unread books, "constantly inventing reactions towards books about which one has no spontaneous feelings whatever". High-volume, on-deadline reviewing, he argues, does not merely deform the work of reading - it deforms the self. The mindless manufacture of responses erodes judgment, and standards collapse.
Orwell is describing what happens when language is produced under conditions that disconnect it from thought: the reviewer performs the shape of a response without having actually responded. What Orwell couldn't have anticipated is that this condition would eventually be outsourced upstream. When a workshop fills with AI-generated fiction, every writer and reader becomes the reviewer Orwell describes.
Orwell ends his essay by arguing that criticism would be healthier if it were slower, more selective, and less industrial. The same argument now applies to writing fiction. AI speeds the writing process, but isn't at all selective, and - in an ironic cycle - turns the act of creation into the kind of rote task it's

Obsessively working is a classic coping mechanism of anxiety about the future. People who are uncomfortable when they don’t feel anxiety will seek out or create conditions to feel an expected level of anxiety. I just wish they would go to therapy instead of subjecting the rest of us to it.

While his essay 'Of Public Credit' (1752) was a warning about the dangers of Britain's increasing reliance on debt financing, his apocalyptic vision of the future turned out to describe some features of our current political map surprisingly well. Hume was writing because he believed that debt financing had the power to upend Europe's traditional power structure and culture by creating a new source of money divorced from tradition or responsibility: stocks and bonds. Unlike land, anyone with some cash could buy war bonds and get an immediate passive income in the form of interest. This was the thin end of the wedge caused by the debt financing that Hume believed was destroying every part of society.

This is a designer’s versions of disrespect. Saturated magenta over saturated blue (painful to look at) and colors with no contrast so it’s hard to read. “Brought to you by” is so small it’s illegible. And NO styling for the tagline???? They hated this project

And his message was: The problem isn't that Midjourney wants to train a Gen AI model on copyrighted works, and then use that model to put artists on the breadline. The problem is that Midjourney didn't pay RIAA members Universal and Disney for permission to train a model. Because if only Midjourney had given Disney and Universal several million dollars for training rights to their catalogs, the companies would have happily allowed them to train to their heart's content, and they would have bought the resulting models, and fired as many creative professionals as they could.

For Al to be valuable, it has to replace high-wage workers, and those are precisely the experienced workers, with process knowledge, and hard-won intuition, who might spot some of those statistically camouflaged Al
errors.
Like I said, the point here is to replace high-waged workers.
And one of the reasons the Al
companies are so anxious to fire coders is that coders are the princes of labor. They're the most consistently privileged, sought-after, and well-compensated workers in the labor force.
If you can replace coders with AI, who cant you replace with AI?
Firing coders is an ad for AI.
