Today is Earth Overshoot Day. It’s earlier and earlier every year and marks when humanity has used more resources in a year than what the Earth can regenerate in that year. Every day I work in clean energy is a day when I can hope that we see this trendline reverse. overshoot.footprintnetwork.org

Dear news outlets everywhere: Please, please stop showing photos of people having fun in the sun alongside articles about heatwaves. It's a ridiculous dichotomy and mocks the dangers heatwaves pose. And I suspect that's not your intent.

Will this be better in the long run? Almost certainly, says our editorial piece.

Living in an area where fire season is a thing, I follow daily AQI numbers. The air around here had a huge hangover on July 5th. My throat felt scratchy all day. For reference: today’s AQI is 31.
