Oh, I finished assembling the picnic table. It's... A bit rough, but that does fit the "cyberpunk street market and residence" vibe I'm going for with this terrain. It's why I think a picnic table works better than barrels next to the pallets.

My favourite edition! I'm making sure all my 40k armies that existed in 2nd are playable in it, not just modern. I even recently decided to repaint a bunch of my old minis to do so. In this, the tactical squad and Terminator squad are 90s models. I'm deciding on whether to repaint my other squad.

I missed this a few days ago! I just finished some Starfinder minis to use for a Five Parsecs from Home campaign, so I'm working on the next project: miniatures as gifts for my gaming group. (Minis as gifts is a big theme for me in these answers isn't it?) Pictures of the recent minis and pallets

But I missed a piece in my research. I'd limited my White Dwarf looks because there's so much. I shouldn't have. I was flipping through old WD again recently, and WD200 had this one right there in the new releases material. This picture appears in September 1996. So: red casing, black coils and grip

Excerpt from the new releases section of White Dwarf 200 (Canada edition). The text talks about the new Bike Squadron, but the important piece to see is an Ultramarines biker with a plasma gun painted with red casing and *black* coils and grips.

Up finding this model, which at the time looked to me like a plasma gun with red casing and yellow coils. Which would be strange because that's not how GW paints 2nd edition plasma guns. On closer inspection, it's actually a flamer. So. I can't find a plasma *gun* not on a razorback before 1996..

I think I'm going to expand my list with Guilliman, one of the biggest models I've painted for myself, and Yndrasta, where I got her wings looking just about exactly how I wanted them to be.

I've been painting so long it's hard to remember the *first*, but new Nagash was one of the first where I felt I could paint at a high level, even if I was following a tutorial. The new Avatar I think is the best thing I have painted. Both gifts for my brother, who is a Nagash and Avatar fan.

Might as well include some pictures of the force I want to expand, and the one Inquisitor model I've painted. I have, somewhere, enough to made a Devastator Squad and another Tactical Squad for these Blood Angels. 3rd edition era Devastators with the metal gun and backpack...

Currently my Bretonnians and Dark Elves for Warhammer Fantasy. Eventually Undead, Tomb Kings, and Eldar will be on the list. Most of my "completed" forces are for skirmish games or smaller size groups for BattleTech.

This was built for WFB 7th edition, so there's a couple options that only show up in that edition.

The list is:

5 Cold One Knights with full command accompanied by a sorceress on Cold One and Dreadlord on Cold One;

21 Spear Elves with full command accompanied by a Dreadlord and Sorceress and Assassin;

Not shown as they're not painted yet: hydra with handlers, and a second Reaper Bolt Thrower.

There is a Locust with vertical stripes of cyan-pink-white-pink-cyan for Trans Pride.

There's an Ostsol with a white head, purple body, black legs, and yellow arms for the Non-binary colours.

There's a Cicada with dark orange to light orange to white to light pink to dark pink top to bottom gradient for Lesbian Pride.

And a Longbow LGB-7Q in Progress Pride colours. The rainbow is left to right, red orange yellow green blue purple, with the triangle of black, brown, cyan, pink, and white chevrons, and the yellow triangle and purple circle, painted on the top.

Later, near as I can figure sometime between November 1996 and May 1997. I think I've shared this before, but I'll do it again. I painted for my dad a new copy of his character from back then, based on his original painting.

I recently did two Yarricks to play with the difference in style. One a very 1994 second edition style, and one more 2002 3rd edition style. Using reference to be sure about the look, but they're both mine using everything I have learned and built up over 34 years of painting minis.

The Two Yarricks painted by Airylan. The one on the left is from 3rd edition 40k and is using muted colours. The main difference from the 3rd edition references is a red power claw instead of black.

The one on the right is the 2nd edition Yarrick, painted in the more vibrant and separated style of 2nd edition. The one thing I might go back to do is a brown line around the designs on the chest. In the picture, the yellow isn't very separate from the white breastplate.

RIP John Blanche. A while ago I experimented with painting using the Zorn palette in sepia tones with really vibrant reds, inspired by some of my favourite John Blanche artwork. Here's the two minis I finished at the time, a model for Inquisitor and an Age of Sigmar Kruleboy.

That looks pretty good! I've recently been experimenting with using *green* as an underpainting for skin, and using a translucent red overtop. It's apparently an old Italian technique whose name I can't remember. It's fun experimenting with colour!

You can see with her legs, which appear as red leggings, that a stronger less translucent paint just turns it red. But her face and hands are a nice tanned skin colour.

Old... I have a High Elf mage I painted ca. 1998, that's the oldest of my painting I have access to I think. And I recently repainted some 2e monopose Marines as Blood Angels, so a mix of old and new :)

Every siocast I have had has been multi-part including these Cyberpunk minis and the Warzone minis. a strange material. Rubbery and bendy, dislikes super glue but it's the only adhesive which really works, has a lot of mold lines that you need to cut and not scrape. But you can get good results.

I laid out my Dark Elves on the table for an army shot. Everything here is done, but I have a Hydra and another bolt thrower to paint eventually. That'll be "finished". "Completed" will be with Executioners and Black Guard and minima for 2nd and 3rd. #WarHamFam #nerdlings #PaintSlam26

I also need 10 more Crossbow elves and 19 spear elves to meet 2nd and 3rd edition minima. Then I can play every Warhammer Fantasy Battles edition with this army!

I laid out my Warhammer Fantasy armies just for fun. These are each about 2000 points of 5th edition lists. The Bretonnians just need pennants and standards, the Dark Elves are almost done, and the Undead is... Mostly just what's here, and is going to be repainted. #WarHamFam #Nerdlinfs

There is a Bretonnian army with some Grail Knights, Knights of the Realm, a block of spears with hero and sorceress, a unit of archers, and a knight riding a Pegasus.

There's a Dark Elves army with some scouts, Witch Elves, Cold One Knights, Repeater Crossbows, and a block of spear elves with a sorceress.

The Undead have a surprisingly small unit of skeletons with hand weapons, accompanies by a liche, necromancer, and wight; a unit of 10 bow skeletons; 5 mummies; 6 ghosts; a white lord on skeletal steed, and 3 wraiths.

I've been using the log this year, and it's done wonders for remembering what I've actually done. While my main goal is "finish projects", I also tend to gauge myself vs 10 / month (or 120 / year), just to check in on how I'm doing. ... I'm at 70-something so far!

A bit late for the trans day of visibility, but I'm a trans gal who paints minis, generally focusing on older GW games, but not exclusively. Here's a 2nd edition 40k army and 5th edition fantasy army actualizing what I've dreamed of since 1997, and a modern BattleTech set for range :)

And the close up on the Terminators. Again I made some corrections after these pictures. And again I took inspiration from the Codex Angels of Death, though I obviously added hazard stripes as is traditional for power fists.

Painted up a beast of a Techmarine, finished the other day. Finecast with all its problems, and so many spindly arms. But it's done (absent varnish) and joins my 2nd edition Blood Angels army even though the sculpt is from a few editions later. #WarHamFam #MinisPainting #PaintSlam26
