I like books, music, films, food, golf and travel. Some 13 cubs that I saw together in Tanzania, Sept. 2025. Other pic is me in a desert in Peru. DMs are fine. 🚫Starter Packs 🚫Trump obsession 🚫Crypto 🚫Religion 🚫Romance
I went for a walk on the beach in the afternoon, where I have gone so many times over the years. It's been about five years since I was here. This could be the last.
I'm alone at our family cottage in Nova Scotia. Having a nice fire and a glass of wine. This is so peaceful and perfect. I needed this.
A visitor in front of the cottage right now. A cute groundhog looking clean and fluffy.
What a difference. The kitchen tap was leaking in the cottage. I bought replacement washers. The one for hot water was practically two-thirds worn away.
How do you know if a thing is of any value? This is in our cottage. It could be quite old. Could be worthless.
I am in a B&B and a cat ran to me demanding attention. Flopping over, paws in the air. And this was behind the property... an alpaca.
My accommodation east of Quebec City is quite attractive. Hope I have a good sleep. I just drove over 11 hours after about 4 hours of sleep.
I left the house at 5:30 this morning and drove for over 11.5 hours. Stopping tonight in Quebec, then on to Nova Scotia tomorrow.
Whoa, my city has a reflecting pool! I swear I didn't touch anything. #USA #iamnofelon
Fireflies are out in my backyard. One almost landed on my hand. This one landed on the table. I put dead leaves in my garden in the Fall, and leave them around the garlic. I read the firefly larva live in the leaf mulch.
That's so weird. I saw your post, and yesterday saw this picture I took of what my daughter made several years ago.
How my baby has grown! This cactus appeared in my garden about five years ago. I potted it and brought it in. Now it is 88cm tall, propped up with a metal thingy because as a self-supporting plant it is useless. 😂 I didn't know cactus could appear in Ontario out of the blue.
I posted this earlier and got about 5 likes. Taken in Peru in the Amazon it is a much more exciting picture to me. A giant anteater passed in front of us as we walked on a trail. And a moth gets so much more attention, LOL.
This is a homemade halloumi burger, my first. Very nice. Served on homemade tahini, topped with zhug which I used parsley in lieu of cilantro, and pickled beets. First time eating beer stems too. Definitely have those again.
This muskrat swam out to collect pond weeds. I'm assuming to line the den. It shares the beaver lodge with the beaver. I was actually watching a turtle which is in the same spot.
My statue is mocking Rudy Giuliani! This stain appeared and I haven't got around to washing it off.
I looked out my kitchen window and saw flowers in a tree. The flowers are about 8 feet up, with no visible connection to the rest of the plant. In fact the leaves down below look awful and wilted.
The pool hit 90F today. We have solar panels to heat it, but we are not using them. Don't need to. Picture is deceptive. That is about 35 feet going away one end to the other (the long way).
One last pic from this side trip. We took a ferry for three hours to get to our next stop, before getting back to where we started, three days earlier.
A couple more from the excursion. I cut my palm near here and at a cafe the man cleaned the would with raki, the local liqueur.
We hiked up a mountain in Albania several years ago. Sunny and warm. At the top, cloudy and cold with snow. Came down the other side, in heavy rain. It was actually a three day excursion to hike there.
The last of the garlic scapes, to be sauteed or used for pesto. I plant 80, which will be enough for planting 80 more cloves in the Fall, and enough garlic to last maybe 9 months.
I walked the walls of the Old City of Dubrovnik about a month ago. I didn't really recognize anything from Game of Thrones. Huge tourist draw and rip-off $$$.
I took a screenshot. I started to write her link. OMG, it is someone else now. That makes me even more sad!
Whipped up this pizza with red pepper, jalapeno, bacon, red onion, feta and parmesan. With a glass of Pinot grigio that I bottled a year ago.
