Male Squirrel in the Maine Wilderness. Evil Author is male, straight, and taken. Writer (formerly on alt.devilbunnies). You can read his long form posts on Current Cover & icon by @woodchuckles.bsky.social
A couple of crappy pics from my beater flip phone from this morning. Second pic, that small tree bottom center is all that is holding it up. Top of the tree got snapped-off by the fall.
(Another one of those meme things...) Post a random picture or else everything will go bad in July 🖤
Yes, I have little to pass on, content-wise. So I wind-up sharing art I see and like 'cause no algorithm here. Here's an older piece artwork I haven't shared in a while and still one of my fav created by @fleurmorte.bsky.social.
I'll be in the Matthews Museum booth at the Moxie Festival tomorrow (7/11) in Lisbon Falls. Any Maine peeps in the area, feel free to drop by and say hi. I won't be dressed as the Moxie Man. The current festival Moxie Man may retire soon. I'd want his blessing before trying to usurp his role. (1/2)

8am and I've already had to close-up the drey to try and minimize the humid heat intrusion. 84F/27C before heat index. This is more like what I use to deal with in my DC internship days, not Maine. *drooptail* If you're also under this heat dome try to keep cool and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
I failed to take photos of our two largest fish, both 15 inches (38cm). Dad caught a 15 inch trout (photo is 12 inch/30cm one he caught earlier in the week) and mine was a pickerel.
Finally, on a walk on the other side of the lake, passive aggressive anyone? Chained-off campsite with two signs: Welcome to my happy place! and No Trespassing (4/4)
Meanwhile, the nearest store, three miles away has a beaver mascot. "Secret" furries? (3/4)
15 inch trout (38cm). Lake info website states it's brook trout, but every depiction of brookies I've seen have dark green sides and brown/tan underbellies. These were silver on the sides and pink underneath. Rainbows? And mighty fisherman Dad even snagged one sunfish through the tail.(2/4)
I'm back and slowly digging through my back log on various sites. My father had a blast. After not catching anything on lures, we tried worms. It's a worm lake for sure. 207 fish caught over the week (he kept a tally) from small sunfish/crappie to 12 inch (30cm) white perch (bass-size perch!), (1/4)
Heading off to fishing camp rented on a small lake for the week, not just weekend. (another pic by @pidge-bites.bsky.social)
So I rescued this little stinker at the Union Fairgrounds yard sale this past weekend. It won't speak to me. So, I have no idea if its male or female. I won't make assumptions just 'cause of the pink fur. It's gotten a bath and will probably be donated to next year's FCL charity raffle.
Flee before I become a bedtime snack. (art by Mochi Mink who, *drooptail* is no longer in the fandom)
For a bit over a week, I've been hunting for a "unicorn". A friend passed away recently. I've "inherited" their grill and we could use one at the office. Grill is in good shape, but old. Hose was dry-rotted. It has a 3/8" male connector. Current standard is 1/2" female. Thanks to fellow (1/2)
I suspect this fur use to work for @castorwheels.bsky.social before striking off on his own. Sign spotted "in the wild" locally.
*nervoustailflick* I'm not normally a toon, but my Evil Author had me made up as one one time. (art by @pandajenn.bsky.social) *bigbambieyes* Please don't hurt me. I might have an aunt I'm unaware of who will go after you.
Successfully channeled my inner squirrel & spent the morning foraging. Alas, this past Saturday in the rain would have been the perfect day (perfect except for the rain) to go gather Fiddleheads (ostrich ferns). They were mostly gone by where I went. It took 2 hrs to pick 3/4 of a bucket. Old photo.
Boat is registered for another year. Fishing license renewed...now I just need warmer weather. First pic is from a camp I rented years ago. Second pic is from the camp I currently rent one week in the summer.
Drink Moxie, give directions to lost flatlandahs (tourists) using references of places that no longer exist, and warn said tourists to avoid Derry, 'cause Stephen King's writings are non-fiction and not made-up horror. (art by @demon-sushi.com) (1/2)
If you see this, post something orange from your gallery. (Or don't, I mean, you do you.)
A couple of previous artworks I've gotten from Lu. You really should commission them.
But I did place an order with @airraiser.bsky.social at last year's con as she had several warning sign badges on display. We don't live all that far apart and I figured we'd find a chance to meet up. Nope. So, I took delivery at this year's con. This con badge that is sort of an in-joke, (2/5)
Con loot? I received stickers from various furs in thanks for those I handed out (Pic attached--thank you @woodchuckles.bsky.social for adjusting the background. It actually worked out!). As a squirrel, it's rare to find anything in the dealers den of a smallish con like #FCL2026. (1/5)
