It was actually a random post about how I think lesbians are awesome, which I guess you could say is me doing the Lord’s work lol 😆

I’ve never met a lesbian who wasn’t the smartest and most interesting and most fascinating person I’ve ever met. Every single lesbian I’ve ever met is a charming genius, totally brilliant, wildly kind and compassionate and brilliantly capable at like many disciplines. It’s actually wild. As a gay man, I just have to say: lesbians, y’all are truly doing some excellent work out there, no notes!!

that undefeated crowd that keeps on dancing
at the bottom of the mud hill, coats wrung wet
with rain, and still they’re kissing, lost in the miracle

of late afternoon showers, dripping wet with falling
droplets that sink away like afternoons opening,
hands reaching out to hold you once more.

If you know me, you know I LOVE The Great Courses Plus, the most incredible platform, they have SO MANY CLASSES on a bagillions of topics, lately I’ve been loving this classic literature course. 📚✨ Normally I’m not a classics girlie but this professor makes it all so approachable and fascinating!!

I really enjoyed this BBC Maestro course! It’s less about time management and more about how to release our anxiety about time, how to focus on what really matters and come back to the present and how to let go of our anxieties around productivity culture and constantly chasing achievement ✨

Wow!! This makes me love him even more!! What a fascinating life he's led!!! And his mom is a total BADASS. Her film, Queen of Katwe is one of my FAVORITE films!!! And his mom directed the film adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's novel, The Namesake, too!!!!!! WHAT A BADASS, WHOLE FAMILY IS BRILLIANT WOW

Mamdani was born in Kampala, Uganda, to academic Mahmood Mamdani and filmmaker Mira Nair. Mamdani immigrated to Cape Town, South Africa when he was five years old and then to the United States when he was seven, settling in New York City. Mamdani graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and received a bachelor's degree with a major in Africana studies from Bowdoin College in Maine in 2014. After working as a housing counselor and musician, Mamdani entered local New York City politics as a campaign manager for Khader El-Yateem and Ross Barkan. He was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, defeating five-term incumbent Aravella Simotas in the Democratic primary. He was reelected without opposition in 2022 and 2024.
