Here's a more recent map (2008): the most economically vulnerable are often the most exposed to flooding. Japan built 10metre+ flood walls at US$30m per km. They are ugly, but for any reasonable cost-benefit analysis there is no economic case for abandoning coastal communities in Lincolnshire.
