Watching Everwood (show I enjoyed growing up) with @tayyschu.bsky.social and all I have done is introduce her to the Mr. Rogers imitator Dr. Abbott played by Tom Amandes and now she has a new thirst 😂

The interesting thing about the NYC vote is that (IMO unsurprisingly) people of color were the ones that voted for Mamdani in the general election. Yes POC supported Cuomo in the primary - but Cuomo lost that support in the general. In fact like most generals, the Democrat lost the white vote.

A table showing that in the NYC Mayoral election, Zohran Mamdani won absolute majorities of Black, Latino, and Asian demographics. In aggregate, he won 56% of the vote from voters of color. Beyond mere pluralities.

White: 45%
Black: 57%
Latino: 52%
Asian: 62%
Other: 51%

Yeah I started googling lol. Seems they are pretty specific about what a "Deliberate Play" is, as well as conditions that are required for it to be a deliberate play - and that a "deliberate save" is different? 😆 It sounds like a not easy call for a ref lol.

A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately played* the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent.

*‘Deliberate play’ (excluding deliberate handball) is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of:

passing the ball to a team-mate;

gaining possession of the ball; or

clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it)

If the pass, attempt to gain possession or clearance by the player in control of the ball is inaccurate or unsuccessful, this does not negate the fact that the player ‘deliberately played’ the ball.

The following criteria should be used, as appropriate, as indicators that a player was in control of the ball and, as a result, can be considered to have ‘deliberately played’ the ball:

The ball travelled from distance and the player had a clear view of it

The ball was not moving quickly

The direction of the ball was not unexpected

The player had time to coordinate their body movement, i.e. it was not a case of instinctive stretching or jumping, or a movement that achieved limited contact/control

A ball moving on the ground is easier to play than a ball in the air

A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).

This actually seems pretty messed up? Like I get you want one guy to win, but if Steyer finishes top 2 then you're guaranteed a Democratic victory. Why would you hope a Republican succeeds in the primary if the alternative is guaranteed success?

I'm sure things like home ownership going down across the board for every demographic except 65+, especially younger ones, is a good thing. (This is in Canada, but I assume trends are similar in your country)

I'm not sure I agree. This post is from the former CEO. In fact I had forgotten about this and am actually *more* confident that AI created code makes up a significant contribution to their codebase. The alternative is taking bsky's word when it has vested interest in focusing blame elsewhere.

A post from Blue Sky where Jay says "Bluesky is made with AI" the engineers and even some non-engineers use Claude code.

There is also a glib comment replying "ask them to stop" and the irony of the "Forbidden" error.
