There is a microcredential from Western University called "Connecting for Climate Change Action" which teaches the ways of First Nations practices to work with nature and teach the symbiosis of people and nature. It is highly recommended.

Canadian residential schools - First Nation's children forced to leave families to become indoctrinated to white man ways - you know, beatings for speaking their own language, rapes, malnutrition, 30% never lived past this 'wonderful' boarding school system.
At the Canadian museum of history today, I read stories of the multi-generational trauma of children forced away from communities. I look at this and think "how can sane people think this kind of dehumanization is going to end well?"

When I worked at a diamond mine up north, they framed small pieces of a 50 million year old log that was blasted out from the ground. Because it was sealed under the ash and no air got to it, the wood was not petrified. To me, this display is more valuable than any diamond that was mined there.
