I found £50 in old paper bank notes yesterday. It was some emergency cash I’d had - a birthday or Christmas present from my mum & dad. I must have had this for nearly 15 years, sitting with a little note written by my mum. From when my dad was still alive. Perhaps he held the notes?
Was lucky to see Super Furry Animals at Bristol Sounds last week during that heatwave. Such a joy. What a special band. Diolch @gruffrhys.bsky.social !
A small win: I remembered to bring a cup of tea for the train instead of buying one I don’t even enjoy
One of the greatest joys I have had recently is making a large, paper maché frog. The frog has gone to live at my daughter's school, where it is going to collect the children's wishes for new books for the library.
For £1 a week / £4 a month you can join the Bristol 500 and vote each month for a group, person or charity to receive £500 from nominations by other members
Sleep well dear Meemo. You’ve been the sweetest little friend.
Watching recordings of research sessions and feeling like this
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering in school do it, make it work. It’s such a great experience ❤️ I made each of my readers a pack of special stickers just for them to celebrate their progress
I’ve been doing volunteer reading with seven year 2 children at my daughter’s primary school this year and I did my final session of the year yesterday. They are such brilliant young people & they have been the highlight of my week 🥲 one of them wrote me the sweetest note in my notebook
Found these drawings by Ripley (age 5 and a half) - she seems to have some of David Lynch’s spirit running through her 😅
I’m loving Hyndburn and whatever the backstory is that means they have to say that they’re an excellent council in their logo
Saw Goblin Band at the Bristol Folk House last night, what an incredible delight they were. If you get the chance to see them, do. They also reminded us all to write to our MPs. Each of us have a voice we need to use.
Stunned by this typographic slop in a Linked In graphic on their paid ads page. KERNING!
I'm sick of seeing this deceptive pattern after booking something, where there is "cash back" offered using a £ symbol yet there is a monthly cost associated with it that is shown without a £ symbol hidden in a block of text that clearly wants to hide it.
Very excited a design of mine has been accepted to the @warchilduk.bsky.social Secret 7” exhibition and auction that starts next week! I’m hoping to get to go to London to see it at the NOW gallery 💞
Hello again, my friend @sitdownaj.bsky.social drawn this thanks to your recommendation ❤️
New on the knitting needles. I must admit I saw this yarn in the shop and had to try it despite my self imposed ban on new yarn 🧶 I’m just a magpie for colour
Cat hat finished! Made for my niece who has a fluffy white rescue cat 💕 knitting chart is all my own work 😅
Made this pair of little mice. I like how they’re the same but different, and that I didn’t buy any new fabric to make them!
If you see this post, repost with a bridge from your gallery. The iconic bridge in Mostar, from our honeymoon nearly six years ago.
David Lynch’s death has hit really hard. He has been such a big part of the trajectory of my life. I doubt I’d have met or married my husband without his work to bring us together. Photo by Dan Clearly, taken outside the Big Boy diner in Burbank where he drank coffee & wrote ideas on napkins.
