Here’s the full stack of previous ones for context. Seems context does matter here as, I think they are saying that if the convo reaches a dead end, you can still try to advocate for action fm a diff angle. Dr. Hayhoe also had a comment that she agreed.
Considering the current state of affairs in the world, I just started a libro.fm account donating to my local kids books store, and this sojourn into the past is my first download: The Amazons If anyone wants to #bookclub it with me lemme know. About to go for a walk and give it a first listen…
Last May when I was living off grid solo up the coast I finally got around to harvesting a few oysters for my supper. They were really good!
Sitting quietly by the sea in Desolation Sound I met this lil guy. Garter snake sub type with turquoise under the chin, foraging along the rough and salty shore. Amazing how they have adapted to be able to swim in the saltwater.
My girlfriends: Why on Earth would you want to unplug fm everything & go up the rugged coast of BC to solo tent camp off-grid for a month at a boat access only piece of wilderness land that doesn’t even have a camping platform? Me:
I’ve been fasting from the news and it has been so healthy. Have also been offline as embarking on living off-grid solo up the rugged coast of BC, Canada. I’m living out of a tent in this endeavour on a piece of wilderness property in Desolation Sound.
the old world. And it explains so much about this one. About strains of the patriarchy that were set in motion then, are still working out their trauma narratives today. Like the Revadim Ashera. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revadim...
We went into Vancouver to bike the blossoms. I thought we might be too late as I’ve seen a lot of cherry trees in bloom already, but on our route most had not bloomed yet. But we still had a lovely bike ride, and went by my old elementary school, which was quite the trip down memory lane.
If you come across this post it’s a chance to pause doomscrolling & ponder for a moment the Q I asked myself hiking today: What sort of absurd creature would lay a day glow pink egg almost a meter high by the side of a cliff in a west coast rainforest? A dinosaur? 🦕 A megamonstrous pterodactyl??
Though most of the last spring break week my ability to go up to the land was blocked by bad weather (wind storms and hail even!), finally managed to take a surveyor up on Friday, and on Saturday, we had one lovely actual vacation day. The 8 yo and I planted a wee rockery.
So, we’ve been using an old mattress from my mom that has been the bane of our existence. I overheat on it and my dh has had neck and shoulder issues for months. Sooo we finally got a new mattress at Silk & Snow. Organic and petrochemical FREE.
Apropos of nothing else in the news, I went to see Mindchatter live at the Commodore on Saturday. First concert out with the dh in what, 8-10 yrs? Yes, we are sad, but the concert utterly slayed. So good. Love this song: Inner Democracy
Surely, you’ve heard of Schrödinger's cat, but have you heard of Schrödinger's war? “Reporter: “You said the war is "very complete." But your Defense Secretary says "this is just the beginning." So which is it?" Trump: “You could say both."”
