The data is important for monitoring space weather and its impact on Earth and radio wave propagation; it is also very important for amateur radio operators and shortwave radio.
In July, Bochum transmitted by far the most data from STEREO-A’s Space Weather Beacon to the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre (SWPC). We have been doing this 24/7 since 2009.
Es'hail-2 with the very first hosted geostationary amateur radio transponder Qatar-OSCAR 100 is almost 8 Years in orbit and continues to operate perfectly. OSCAR = Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio!
Obviously DSN Madrid is back in business, while DSN Now status display shows offline. Below is Robledo ground station locked-on and doing an uplink sweep. Meanwhile Bochum has been providing space weather beacon data though.

On July 4, Tianwen-2 is expected to approach within 20 km of Kamoʻoalewa, marking the start of the mission's most critical phase after a 13-month journey from its May 2025 launch. Doppler measurements from our 20m Bochum antenna indicate no or only small orbit adjustments during the last few day.
Not much happened on the Tianwen-2 asteroid mission during last week, while our radome is cleaned...
Tianwen-2 near #Asteroid Kamoʻoalewa is now over 40 million km away from Bochum and very active over the last couple of days, including orbit maneuvers to further reduce the distance to the asteroid. Thanks to Tammo Jan @radiotelescoop.bsky.social and @telkamp.eu for further Doppler analysis.

Tianwen-2: At 23:37:00 UTC the signal suddenly faded away. Before it completely disappeared, some sudden frequency jumps in the doppler were noticeable. More later...
Just a quick update on Tianwen-2. We saw several events before LOS- At 23:06:10 UTC the data rate was reduced, probably in preparation for some trajectory maneuvers.
Tianwen-2 is a Chinese mission that will return samples from the Earth quasi-satellite #Asteroid 469219 Kamoʻoalewa. Today the angular distance of TW-2 from AST469219 is 0.295°. This is reducing at a rate of -0.0559°/day. At that rate TW-2 will reach Kamoʻoalewa on Jun 07 03:20 UTC.
