As I have been feeling better in my shoulder, I have been making some wearable sewing mockups. The shirt is based on pattern size chart and it’s WAY too big. The skirt is my own drafted pattern and it’s roomy without looking too large. I’ll probably just take in the shirt, rather than remake it.
We're having some thunderstorms, which anxious Percy has been barking at for more than a hour. Not conducive to sleeping. Thought I'd try today's 4x3 puzzle. Not gonna lie, I'm pleased with this result. 4x3.fun (www.hankgreen.com/fourbythree) June 27, 2026 207 points • No mistakes 🌟🟪🟪 🌟🟦🟦 🌟🟩🟩 🌟🟨🟨
Well, this forecast is a little unexpected. I thought we were only going to have a couple rounds of thunderstorms today, but I guess there's enough instability that a tornado risk exists. I've requested storm donuts, just in case.
Ok, after FBA and new mockup... I think the pattern just doesn't look good on big-busted women. No shade on designer, but I just couldn't the point to look right on me. But hey, here's another contender. Similar puffy sleeve and gathered bust, but using a straight, rather than pointed, yoke.
Some of might even be watching multiple streams with split views, so we can catch all the action!
I don't know if I have ever been so excited to order a pair of shoes in my life! I bought them direct from Converse.com .
I made the executive decision not to make donuts, cause we need the rain... but we're already planning on them for Tuesday.
There's more bad news in the report with the international production (global supply). The production pressures (along with anti dumping tariffs) are going to increase domestic prices on flour, bread, pasta, and any prepared foods with those as ingredients (e.g. cereal, canned pasta meals...).
News I'm not seeing reported elsewhere: US wheat production, especially hard winter wheat, for '26-'27 is at its lowest levels since at least 1966, with poor quality (due to drought, farmers are considering abandoning the crops and filing for insurance instead). ers.usda.gov/sites/defaul...
And done. 7 pints of ugly chicken and 5 quarts of vegetable stock. They’ll cool overnight, then be labeled and put on the shelf for the future.
Woke up just now and see some storms are rolling into my area on radar. Debating just going back to sleep (in my t-shirt and sweat pants) figuring the NOAA radio (or more likely Percy) will wake me if I really need to worry. And.... there goes my radio. *sigh*
The tornado watches are getting closer to my neck of the woods. Make sure y'all have weather alerts coming in (this is what I've playing in the background: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw6u...) I've never seen a PDS tornado WATCH before!
Me: *sits at my desk* Percy: *walks in, whines* Me: *looks at bed covered in sewing stuff* Oh, you want this? Percy: *sighs* Me: *puts away pattern, cutting mat, scissors* That better? Percy: *hops up onto bed* Percy: *immediately falls asleep and starts snoring* Me: I guess so.
After finishing my overalls, I thought I would try hacking the sewing pattern to make a simple pinafore dress. I love this summer plaid. My only change that I would make for future dresses is using more fabric in the skirt (downside of using thrifted fabric) and better pocket pattern matching.
@support.bsky.team - any reason why I am suddenly seeing posts from users that I *do not* follow on my Following feed? See screenshots below. Also, I've been seeing posts that are 24-48 hours ago mixed in with the "15 mins" ago posts. Thanks!
And it looks like other fruit and veggies are going to be scarce. There are lots of articles (like this one below) explaining what is becoming harder to find and why. seashoreeast.com/market-report/
