I have been recording some lessons with a specific, consenting student. The thought of watching myself back, although recommended in courses, was daunting. Just finished my first watching of the oldest video, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. The light is quite pretty as well!

When we meet in a public space to practise languages, in Spain (at least) we call it “mesa” (table). En la mesa de ingles de ayer, we started by making a pool of open ended questions. Want to answer one? You can translate it to Spanish first! #Langsky #LearnEnglish #PractiseSpanish

My favourite reading set up. I sometimes think one of the reasons I don’t read more is joint discomfort and pain, and I almost never find a posture that prevents that. This way I can find comfortable postures and settle in, and if I fall asleep, the e-reader/ phone is safe. #BookSky

Saw this Spanglish pun/ portmanteaux, and I thought I’d share. A bocados = biting, in bites Ejemplo: “Me gusta tanto el chorizo/ queso que me lo como a bocados” (when we normally slice it). So it’d be something like “you are so cute I could eat you up” #LearnSpanish

I got surgery last night, my gallbladder is out. Everything is great except for a very itchy, widespread allergic reaction (seemingly).

I’ve made myself a little bookholder out of a cardboard box. Then made a stencil with the cut-off, then made one for each of my roomates, then drew some instructions and offered it to the nursed in case someone wanted to make one. People are amused.

I am off IV fluids, just medicine now. Oh, the freedom (it’s in my dominant hand). Pain at its lowest. Had two teas, two juice boxes and a broth with minimum consequence. They gave me a lil’ something to help with sleep and I managed a bit more than 5 hours. Feeling much better ❤️

En España, this gesture means “a lot”. I asked someone from Mexico and they understood it as something like “don’t be a coward”. Do you know any other meanings in Spanish for this gesture? #LearnSpanish
