I also wrote in this post about something I noticed in my inbox lately: a bunch of polished single-serving sites with italic serif fonts with red accents and tiny all-caps monospaced fonts on a cream background, all from different people who I'm not entirely sure know who I am.

I'm with Ethan. I'd place bets that an LLM is running that store the way this Rube Goldberg device makes a cup of tea, with a tremendous amount of human intervention.

Exactly. There were good 2600 games and bad 2600 games, and the graphics barely mattered. Gameplay was everything. My favorites were all laughably abstract: Maze Craze, Combat, Haunted House, Adventure...
They should go back to their old logo, and bring back their iconic "plain-wrap" design while they're at it. Would be a huge hit.
