For something a little different... a crazy looking mushroom I saw hiking this past weekend. I think it's a type of waxcap mushroom.

I probably go for a nice mountain bike ride every father's day, since that's usually the thing I most enjoy doing. Getting a little treat mid-ride was perfect!

It's cool that they have actual jerseys for the middle school kids (last year they had t-shirts.) Now if only they had any sort of track (they've had to bus over to the high school track two days a week for practice.)

I've planted a bunch of persimmon and the last few pawpaws we had in a patch at the end of my yard (had to rip up that invasive periwinkle anyway) so between that and numerous friends picking up seedlings, we've made a good dent. However there are still many persimmon and a few buttonbush left
