“Patience is a form of wisdom. It demonstrates that we understand and accept the fact that sometimes things must unfold in their own time.” ~ Jon Kabat-Zin Art by Jimmy Liao
“In every adult there lurks a child—an eternal child, something that is always becoming, is never completed, and calls for unceasing care, attention, and education. That is the part of the personality which wants to develop and become whole.” ~ C G Jung, CW17, para. 286
"We are not provided with wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves, after a journey through the wilderness which no one else can take for us, an effort no on can spare us". ~ Marcel Proust
A brand new #Jungian book to dive into, very exciting. And I LOVE the cover image. It depicts my struggle in this lifetime so vividly... 😔
This beautiful poem is read by Kenneth Branagh's character in the final episode of the magnificent Wallander UK series, I love it. ❤️
🧵 While at times you may feel lost, Blown off course by life’s vicissitudes, There remains within you The core of who you’ve always been And always will be. A central part of your soul Which knows what you want, need and love the most To feel fulfilled, at home and deeply happy.
"I just don’t think it’s possible ever to be fully conscious. I see it as the tip of an iceberg and then there’s this vast world down below. And I think we are meant to live with mystery. It opens up the dimensions that keep us human and compassionate." ~ Marion Woodman
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” ~ Lao Tzu Art by Xu Beihong
“Tiny miracles are often born out of shaky missteps and nervous laughter. The synchronicity of destiny disguised as accidents, of growth masquerading as pain.” ~ Shahida Arabi Art by Diana Catchpole.
“This is the riddle that drives the spirit crazy: That the opener and that which is opened are the same! You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens.” ~ Rumi Art by Jeanie Tomanek
"Maybe our world will grow kinder eventually. Maybe the desire to make something beautiful is the piece of God that is inside each of us." ~ Mary Oliver Art by Ayumu Matsuoka
"When you are in a crowd that gets agitated you will be infected, even if you do not share the people's conviction. You can't do anything against it, becuase nothing is passed on more easily than emotions. 🧵
“Underneath the ache, there is almost always something unmourned. A self that was edited too early. A dream that was practical'd away. It's still there. Waiting for its due.” ~ Dr. Gabriel Barsawme (via X) Art by Owen Gent
"The love of nature can heal the deepest wounds." ~ St. Kevin of Glendalough Art: 'Dream' by Catia Chien
Apologies, I don't know who created this meme, but I love it! This is why my no 1 place for healing, peace & happiness is going to the beach & sea ❤️🙏💙
"Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought: So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.” ~ T.S. Eliot, excerpt from ‘East Coker’, No. 2 of ‘Four Quartets’.
"wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting."
I love this verse from TS Elliot's East Coker so much that I'm going to post it a sentence at a time, as it's so powerful and rich. And, I'm trying to memorise it so it helps to break it down this way. "I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope, for hope would be hope for the wrong thing;"
“Children don’t get traumatised because they get hurt; they get traumatised because they’re alone with the hurt.” ~ Dr Gabor Matè #trauma #childhood #neglect #abandonment #feelings #childhoodtrauma #parenting
“Our development begins in the unconscious. If we do not realize this, we forget that we are descended from the animal world. … The body is an animal, our body soul an animal soul. One must not forget this. 🧵
“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. 🧵
“I go down to the shore in the morning and depending on the hour the waves are rolling in or moving out, and I say, oh, I am miserable, what shall— what should I do? And the sea says in its lovely voice: Excuse me, I have work to do.” ~ Mary Oilver: A Thousand Mornings #poetry #poems #MaryOliver
“It’s important to remember that dreams give us images that point in the direction of wholeness. The unconscious moves ahead of consciousness. Conscious action may come somewhat later.” ~ Marion Woodman, Dancing in the Flames, p.152
