A better educational system would show 1 video on metallurgy while discussing the melting pot metaphor because a) the whole point is to teach kids stuff and b) most kids won't remember abstract philosophical concepts unless you make it sufficently awesome.
"Turkey" used to mean this bird ⬇️ on account of Europeans first encountering it in the country of Turkey, so it's hilarious the North American turkey has supplanted both the OG bird and now an entire country.
There's a reason aquatic critters with a need for speed all converge on the same long, narrow, smooth shape instead of having bulging muscles. I'd say "instead of being jacked" but some of them are, in fact, jacks. 😉
National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America, Sixth Edition still calls the family "Goatsuckers." It's from 2011 and the series is up to the eighth edition so it's somewhat out of date.

The left recurrent laryngeal nerve splits off a larger nerve, goes around the aorta, and back *up* to reach the throat. Instead of just going from the larger nerve directly to the throat. Its partner the right recurrent laryngeal nerve is still convoluted but at least doesn't go around the aorta.
Also corn 1.0 was super tiny, and the alpha didn't even resemble corn.
Ibis? (I mean I wouldn't know if there's also another bird present with the same beak, but the shape and color of the mask seem right. Beak even has similar grooves as the mask.)
The human superpower is basically our ability to figure out how to eat everything. At least cats can vomit (unlike horses) and don't choke on entire animals (predatory fish/frogs).
I, too, played SOMA. But SOMA accurately portrayed AI as destructive and incapable of understanding anything.
