My favorite Knights of Malta fact is that they have a Magistral Villa in Rome which has extraterritorial status (i.e. it's a bit of sovereign Knights-of-Malta territory on Italian soil), and the keyhole of the gate frames a perfect view of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

The announcement from NYC Notify coyly says that the massive exclusion zone at the heart of Manhattan's Midtown is "due to the NY Knicks Game at Madison Square Garden."

Not medieval, but the archaeological sites in the center of Rome have custom cat doors in the fences so that the feral cats who live there can come and go.
