Vaguely sane, TX resident thanks to covid fun. Living with fractious tortoiseshell Chimera Pfeffernuss Murdermittens, who tries to run my life. Clueless minecrafter, BG3, ESO, GW2, POE2, etc. Once a mass comm academic and museum worker. she/her
I am not helping the AI by filling it in on the long term controversy over who really owns the computer chair in my office. Chimera does not need anyone else on her side.
I am playing Moonlight Peaks and can't tell how good the game might be for other people, because I named the cat after my own cat, and this is exactly the energy Chimera brings to everything.
Chimera in her I Sit Upon The Thing You Are Attempting to Photograph project. Also titled "Why Aren't You Patting Me, I Am Not Getting Enough Attention."
I feel VERY strongly, and can make a legit case for the fact that it is weird if you DON'T have a favorite hardware store. Everyone should have a favorite hardware store, that's just normal!
Sometimes I look at trending here and I'm like, hmmm, y'know, I'm ok with not knowing what any of that is about.
I immediately thought of Durer's St Jerome in His Study, but he has fewer things around his desk. But! Big on bring your pets to work day. scma.smith.edu/blog/st-jero...
Bias, I love graphs. This gives you an idea of the time frame. Add to that that this is happening to a stretch of 80 miles of river. Estimated 100 billion gallons of water was dumped in this area. This resets all numbers used to plan future floods.
I'm sharing a lot of sad stuff - here's a photo of my cat as apology. Here she has stolen my office chair and is about to whine when I try and move her. This scene happens on a daily basis. Despite the fact I have LOTS of places for her to sleep in the office, and the rest of the house.
OLDER ARTICLE Sharing for photo to help understanding - look at how high the pile of debris is in photo I've screenshot from link. They are still looking to recover bodies from debris. They are being careful in how they say that, this is traumatic stuff for the public. www.tpr.org/2025-07-04/k...
Seriously, once upon a time I started this account just to post photos of my cat and perhaps random silliness in minecraft. Then political reality got even more messy. Sigh. Here's Chimera looking at me upside down because she knows I always, always pay more attention to her when she does.
Chimera Pfeffernuss Murdermittens: I will sit here on this corner of your desk, and stare at you until you realize I have something in my eye and you are REQUIRED to tend to this. Then tell me how handsome I am. Also skritches, you never skritch me enough.
It is entirely @questauthority.bsky.social 's fault that I had to look this up because I remember loving the song Snoopy's Christmas but had a vague memory of the album cover looking insane and yup, still does. Santa is totally in villain mode.
For those up on their history, this is also a reference to the wife of Heinrich Schliemann, when she modeled the jewelry he found at a dig site of the ancient city of Troy/Hisarlık. The excavation history of which is worth a read: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophia_... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy#Ex...
It's the source of this image, a woman wearing the "finds" from the archeology dig at the motel in 4022. And obviously assumptions were made as to how the finds were worn in the distant past.
Randomly looking up something else and discover that there's a town in Texas named Ben Wheeler, which is only weird to me in that there is ofc only one Ben Wheeler who's Canadian. @wheeler.bsky.social Also they have a hog festival that for some reason involves this bus. Will add links in comments.
Rules of Chimera Murdermittens Do not touch the toes. Even if said toes are in your face. If you touch them, you will receive The Look indicating that her majesty is not happy with you. It will be impossible not to understand The Look. Also see: Attractive Nuisance.
I keep forgetting I need to post cat photos, it's the reason I'm here after all. Here Chimera Murdermittens is doing her "I am so cute, only a monster would move me from this chair, which is now mine." It is ofc my office chair, which she has laid claim to mainly because I have warmed it.
omg, having a sudden memory of learning what brine shrimp look like. And I don't remember how, because I didn't buy sea monkeys, but someone explained. I was already pretty sure that the cartoon couldn't be real because I wouldn't be allowed a pet that would have its own civilization like that.
Whoa, it IS real... Screenshotting just in case the website changes the graphic. Because, damn. newsroom.ucla.edu/stories/comp...
Earlier today: trapped with cat snuggled next to me being wildly cute, thus I can't move. The unprotected stomach is a trap, she never never wants you to pat it. Ofc I patted it and got a mrrr and a gentle nip which means "stop that you fool."
Here Chimera is hopeful that I'm going to play with her but have instead sat on the floor here to photograph her because her magnificence is the only reason I can figure all of y'all are following me. I have always been a social media lurker, so I'm working on not thinking about how weird this is.
Chimera has discovered the warm spot I leave when I get up off the couch and has claimed it. And in an attempt to be obnoxious I tucked her in. This is her deciding if she's enjoying it or not. She's undecided.
Cat update: busy day, Chimera pooped on floor to indicate...something (more research needed). Then got into bathroom to destroy her enemy, the TP, dragged shreds everywhere and into her water bowl. Revenge: I woke her in her sunny spot to take this photo of her. That's just her morning.
This was posted yesterday, so I figured I'd google "first person to backflip" to see what AI had learned at this point and yup, John Backflip is still in there. Sigh.
I'm on bluesky just to read others and only post cat photos and repost history authors and then, election time/scary future thoughts, and I keep reposting it. So here is Chimera, who feels TP is the enemy - that's a TP roll shredded at her feet. Thus my bathrooms must have childlocks on the doors.
I'm really glad you posted about this because I'd not have noticed it when it popped up on my Kindle as well. Just so damn weird.
