Why this headline? We all know that @nytimes.com reporters have spent enough time covering Trump to know he does not "grieve" people who die. This story is about how they landed on Graham's lightly-qualified sister to replace the unexpectedly dead Lindsey Graham in the Senate.
We are giving Saudis nuclear technology, the same country that slaughtered and dismembered a Washington Post reporter in their embassy. Remembering Jamal Khashoggi. NY Times story: www.nytimes.com/2026/07/22/w... BBC News story on Jamal Khashoggi's death: www.bbc.com/news/world-e...
Three national papers. Only one deems Hegseth's plea for billions to fight a war he and Trump have repeatedly claimed we've won or that we've "obliterated" their capabilities - nuclear and otherwise. What's going on with @nytimes.com that they don't even mention it at all?
Just a reminder that Evangelical Christians back a man who worked on behalf of alleged sex traffickers to get them released from a Romanian jail. The Tate brothers are in America because Trump's administration devoted resources to get them here. nyti.ms/4vOl8LK #tatebrothers
Idly wondering what Thom Tillis views as "integrity and judgment" in Todd Blanche that is good enough to be USAG, as his one requirement before approving his nomination was that Blanche meet with Epstein victims, which he did yesterday in a hastily arranged meeting to conform with Tillis's request.
CBS News also provides transcription headlines instead of an accurate framing. CNN provides a generic headline - "key takeaways." MS Now focuses on the "omissions." This is a very dangerous attack on elections by Trump and several of the headlines don't reflect this threat to our democracy.
We have not come to terms with the fact that in America, there is a vast media ecosystem that sane washes all of Trump's corruption. NY Times in OCTOBER 2025 had a front page story on Hunter Biden's corruption (deal that failed in 2017.) Where are the front page stories on the Trump family scams?
What are we doing here? I wish national news media outlets would stop transcribing Trump's words as if he means anything by them. Just yesterday, he was going to impose tolls. Today, he "retreats." We don't hold any of the cards.
ARE we moving on from MAGA? I do not see that. I see masked men marching on the Capitol instead.
It is shameful that one party supports the abandonment of the Emoluments clause. NO president should rake in BILLIONS as part of his job. The corruption is appalling.
It's so funny that "Freddie Mercury" - who loved cats - trends on Caturday - and the trending posts are ALL about Caturday - not Queen or Freddie Mercury. Maybe this has been going on a long time, but I am without a cat right now and I just noticed this today.
This sum is NOT quite the amount of money Pete Hegseth spent in just September on things like hotels, steaks, and lobster. bit.ly/43uFFJc
NC had a bill THIS TERM calling for killing women who did not properly protect the embryo. Did not pass but they will not stop until it does. bit.ly/4f2q9eb ALSO Republicans think an IUD is a murder weapon in need of more regulations than the AR15. Not a pro-life approach. They LOATHE women.
They will not stop until they turn abortion into a death penalty crime. They cannot wait to execute women for the crime of having an abortion. They place an embryo far above the life of the living woman. Sick culture. Not pro-life. Banning abortion never ends abortions.
And @amandamarcotte.bsky.social says something here that is really illuminating - Trump is the guy in the group project who did nothing but claims credit for all the really great work done by everyone else.
Excellent analysis by @amandamarcotte.bsky.social. www.salon.com/2026/06/24/w...
Millions of people believe everything Fox News tells them to believe and they are amplifying the Trump administration lies all the time. www.foxnews.com/video/639921...
Weaponized DOJ. Terrifying times. Good thing they rethought this one. But they are still attacking people who were simply exercising their first amendment rights or sticking their hand in the reflecting pool damaged by Trump's no-bid contractor.
In October 2025, @nytimes.com had a FRONT PAGE story on the corruption of Hunter Biden (a story also in support of a book written by one of their own.) The corruption of Trump & his family and their desire to "eagerly" profit from the presidency is noted as part of a book review. Unethical bias.
Contrary to how Haberman and her peers at @nytimes.com see it, it is not "sometimes distracting" when when a president asks for an investigation of a federal employee who said the 2020 election was fair, it is an abuse of power.
I just saw an interview with JD Vance (the Douthat interview) where he asked his stepmom why she was a Republican and though stepmom was not rich, she liked aligning with the rich person's party. Free link: www.nytimes.com/2026/06/18/o...
We do not hold all the cards, regardless of what Hegseth said back in March. bit.ly/4euBLoZ An embarrassing loss for the US.
