Virginia Lee Roberts, later Giuffre, born on August 9, 1983, in Sacramento, CA. Maybe today would be a good to actually comply with the long-past-deadline court order, and release the Epstein Files.
Mickey having difficulty relaxing for his afternoon nap. NSFW.
today's birthday boys: Peter O'Toole and Garth Hudson. Honor August 2 always, y'all.
You don't need much room—just some logs and earth—to plant and grow your own lettuce. It's fun to do, too. Black-seeded Simpson lettuce grows fast and flourishes in windowboxes and on city roof gardens. I recommend it, and home cultivation, to all wanting green crunch without diarrhea.
Elegant parents of mine, not so long ago. Missing them on this quiet Sunday.
scrambles and home fried potatoes! *got their attention*
President Zachary Taylor of Barboursville, VA, ate a boatload of ripe cherries and drank iced milk at a party on July 4, 1850. Taylor returned to the White House after a long hot day outdoors, suffered severe stomach cramps, and died five days later from what was likely cholera. He was 65.
She'd have been 99 today, as few are. I miss you, Mother ❤️🎂
apparently ol Clarence has a thing for not only pubic hairs on Coke cans, but women who are bigger and far more masculine than he. And who also seem to gaily support treasons.
tomorrow morning: NYCACC board meeting in Queens, 9:30 am. If you are a dog, cat, animal lover in New York City, please go.
And today this poor little duckling or one if its siblings was floating dead in the Reflecting Pool. Photograph by Aaron Schwartz for @reuters.com Everything these motherfuckers touch dies. Who's going to stop this shit? Not a complicit corrupt SCOTUS; nor the poodles of Congress.
you photographed my lovely sisters.... Here's mine:
good night from me and from @petesouza.bsky.social and his courtly photograph of two friends.
current status: reshelving forgotten. And also he can't take a bad screen shot....
"where are you leading us?" "into the wild" When you are reshelving books in the living room and flick on the tv to see if anything entertaining is on, and there is Strider.... (Viggo Mortensen appreciation post)
The Nescafe ad. Of course as Giles. But how Anthony Head clearly reveled in his Doctor Who role as the scary alien headmaster—and in starring alongside the radiant Elisabeth Sladen, returning in this episode, with K9, as Sarah Jane Smith.❤️
"brief encounter" SCOTUS aren't going to help, are they? ever. And Kavanaugh is part of Roberts's legacy.
A peaceful offline weekend to you all from me and the pack. I hope there are lots of dogs wherever you are.
Private Ernest Daniel, US Army, just arrived in Brest, France, summer 1917. Thinking of him and so many millions more brave men and women on this Memorial Day, with gratitude for their service and thanks always ❤️🇺🇸
Nothing and no one will ever be cooler than Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh watching tennis. Happy birthday, Larry ❤️
I loved talking to Paul Metsa about Bob Dylan in honor of his upcoming 85th birthday. Thanks to the Duluth Reader—Dylan was born in Duluth at St. Mary's Hospital—for putting Bob and his cake on the cover, and running part of my conversation with Paul. duluthreader.com/articles/202...
