First billion+ on my own pinball machine. Managed to reach Cygnus X-1 Book 1 - The Voyage but had horrible jackpot values and botched it. A lot of points from Bastille Day. Tried to always go for it in multiball and the 1.19 Rush code has a longer timer. Had one mode left for Cygnus X-1 Book 2 🙃
Extra opening hours and stream at the club to celebrate the arrival of Rush. The drink of the night is, of course, Gold Rush.
It’s technically Saturday. I just got home after a night out and found this in the mailbox so… #RandomGameSaturday R-Type Tactics feels like it’d make no sense but it totally does—R-Type is all about strategic decisions and translates well to turn-based. Glad both entries got a modern port.
It’s #RandomGameSaturday and I pulled out Fatal Labyrinth. Originally released for Sega Meganet (!?) and a very early example of a Japanese-developed roguelike. Curious. Had to buy it but have yet to play it.
Pulled out Evil Zone for #RandomGameSaturday. Used to play a version on an old PlayStation Demo Disc with my friend Charlie back in the day. Eventually bought the game for myself and thoroughly enjoyed its vibes.
This #RandomGameSaturday game is Galaga ’88 (or Galaga ’90 for you TurboGrafx-16 people). I’ve been playing the arcade version at my friend’s new arcade lately and loving it. This PC Engine port is remarkably good, too!
Randomly pulled out Peggle Dual Shot for #RandomGameSaturday Peggle was, and still is, an absolute blast and deserves your respect.
It took a while, all night in fact, but the Apple Music cloud sync actually seems to work. Now I can stream my own ALAC CD rips on my phone! Especially fun since most of it is video game music not available on streaming services. Starting the morning with some Black Mages to celebrate. 🧙
Bonus #RandomGameSaturday in honor Game Boy Advance’s anniversary! Kuru Kuru Kururin is peak handheld gaming. It kept both me and my sister very busy back in the day. Still worth playing today, as is its sequels!
It’s #RandomGameSaturday and Mamoru-kun is once again cursed! Got into the original version due to the absolutely bonkers good FM soundtrack by Yousuke Yasui. Imported it for Xbox 360 years ago. It’s luckily also a great game! Very happy @clearrivergames.com keeps bringing Japanese STGs to Europe!
Deep-fried pickles. Whoever did that first, I’m short-listing you for the Nobel Peace Price because you CANNOT be angry or vindictive eating these.
Bought this copy of Shiren the Wanderer for Wii the other day, just in time for #RandomGameSaturday. Less beloved than many Shiren games, but that didn’t stop me!
Show a character that shares the same height as you. The internet claims Samus is 6’ 3” so that’s clearly going to be my pick. We both enjoy curling up into a ball, I guess.
For this #RandomGameSaturday I bring you XI, courtesy of a recent @japanretrodirect.bsky.social order. Best puzzler? Best puzzler.
The curated Living Room Selection™️ of CDs I want close to the CD player. Girlfriend had a strict ”Digipaks only” rule due to aesthetics, but still pretty satisfied with the choices.
I have come up with a new action plan for my Monster Base Case and I'm very excited by it. Synthesizers fucking rule. #eurorack #modularsynth #modular
It seems someone played my old video game music arrangements from @ocremix.org at MAGFest. That’s neat.
