On July 15, Midtown Global Market and the southern fringe of the downtown Minneapolis skyline, viewed from St. Anthony Park in St. Paul, have vanished under a thick veil of wildfire smoke from the northern wildfires.

I want to be very clear. In November, when I spoke up, exercising my First Amendment rights and compassion for my immigrant neighbors, my and your government pepper-sprayed me, my partner, and dozens of others. We are part of the ACLU lawsuit suing the federal government.

If you know me and you are not speaking out against fascism in the present day, I am ashamed of you, you bring shame upon your family and everyone who knows you, and you should find your heart before it’s too late, and they come for you, too.

This is my home. Masked, heavily armed paramilitaries violated the constitutional rights of, stalked, struck, injured, killed, & abducted human beings at these places 2,129 times since December 1, 2025. It’s an undercount. 2,021 are estimated to have been deported from Minnesota since January 1.

My partner and I stand at a snowy, icy street corner on the evening of January 24, 2026. A small candle burns on the sidewalk below. No doubt the DOGE effort is reducing the number of quality data inputs for the GFS model (and therefore degrading the outputs), but the problems with the GFS have existed for longer. Most of the time it trails behind the ECMWF and CMC models. Its performance also seems worse in summer. Here’s 6/20:
