A US immigration officer shot and killed a person in Maine on Monday morning, the second fatal shooting involving federal agents in less than a week.

I've been putting this off for far too long, instead quietly suffering as it's extremely difficult asking for help. That's what everyone who complains about mutual aid don't seem to understand. And what's funny is most people here call themselves "Liberals".

Please help me not go hungry for a third of every month. I don't need advice on government programs or food banks. I already get SSDI & SNAP; the cost of living in Vermont is simply INSANE so neither ever lasts long enough to cover bills or food. Regarding food banks, even if the closest to me didn't have mouse droppings on its food containers, I'd only be wasting food that someone else can eat. I'll never return there.
Even if mouse droppings weren't simply absolutely disgusting, my immune system is compromised due to chronic Methylprednisolone use.

Moreover, my esophageal muscles are failing so I'm unable to just eat anything or I'll end up choking to death. And if it matters to you, I'm my mom's only caregiver (dementia, severe osteoporosis) which makes me responsible for keeping her fed; it's beyond heartbreaking that I can't. She only gets $24 a month in SNAP. $24. So I always end up using my SSDI on food, leaving me with nothing to use for anything else. It's not a life; it's a prolonged death.

So beyond the absurdist non-statements oozing out of his fraud-ridden Floridian ass, he's got the nerve to say "balance a budget" and "balancing the budget" - and placing the onus on local govt when he NEVER balanced FL's budget as governor nor has he and the rest of the Nazi Senate even tried.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said he voted no because housing is "a local issue" and he, too, wants to tackle larger problems, like interest rates and local governance, that he sees as the root cause of high housing costs.

"If we want to reduce housing costs, we would balance a budget and get interest rates down," Scott said. "Driving interest rates down through balancing the budget and having local governments do a better job - that's what's going to drive housing costs down."
