I just have to show you my coworker that joined the crew today! We were watching him until his new servant got off work this afternoon. He’s 8 weeks old and just adorable! We’re lobbying for his government name to be Jack O. Lantern, as we were potting up pumpkins when he arrived.
Tuxedos are my favorite kitties. Maisie is my third. She is very sweet, loves to be brushed, and is a chatterbox, but not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
Winslow with her girl posse (me). We’re just hanging out before third breakfast.
Joined 1200 of my friends and neighbors this afternoon on a chilly day.
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of waterfowl, especially the Canadian geese, to our wildlife refuge in mid April. This year, they will be surprised to see all the snow. Here’s last year’s arrival.
Many have asked about ice fog here. Particulates in the air freeze, resulting in this gray soup. You can look directly at the sun, too.
Bakey IS the sun on this shortest day of the year! Here is our view after our 3 hours and 42 minutes of sunshine today. It was -35 this morning.🥶
There is feline joy in the house today, as a box of kick sticks and ropes arrived from @angelkat.bsky.social and her family. The box was swarmed, sniffed, and its contents attacked with gusto. There was also a book for me! Now, everyone is sleeping off their catnip indulgence, only to return later!
The Tortie has learned over the past eleven years that if she snuggles up next to my lower back while I’m sleeping, she will get treats when I wake up in the morning.
Associate Justice Maisie decided at 3 AM that she needed to do a full body lean against my back to help me sleep. First time ever! She is long and warm, so I slept like the baby I am. 😻
My study partner in nursing school was this sweet boy, Moxley. He was a little kitten who wrapped himself around the back of my neck while I was on my computer. Sure made studying more enjoyable. Miss G has the same energy. 💕
