I was just trying to find a good stock photo of Toronto in summer and this was the result after searching for “Toronto patio.” It’s a fair assessment.
Today I saw a church parking lot yard sale for Palestine filled with people shopping for mountains of donated housewares. It's not enough but it's a hell of a lot better than nothing.
I wrote a thesis on this in 2015 & it was already firmly established in the US then — the UK is usually ahead of them. You can see both value & volume start going up sharply post-2010 driven by Provencal wines, which established the association pale rosé = good in the popular imagination.
I caved. It was pretty bad or, rather, an illustration of why we shouldn’t get political or sociological analysis from Netflix. It missed an opportunity to show what might have been the beginning of an end …
I wasn't using it but anything that could be counted as support is no longer tenable, even if it's just being one of 300 million users. (Worth noting that users were down 5% year over year – let's exceed that decline in 2025).
Today in conspiracy prof: “Rockefeller hid in the shadows.” Ma’am, any argument starting with that premise falls apart pretty quickly.
