on 14 July 1933, the Nazis enacted their "Sterilisation Law" which forcibly sterilised disabled people or any who fell under the judgement of a "Genetic Health Court" even if the condition wasn't genetic. around 400,000 people were sterilised by 1939, at which point the Nazis started Aktion-T4
trans and intersex pride put up their accessibility info on instagram for the march tomorrow in dublin. starting at city hall at 2pm with an access point at nassau street. www.instagram.com/p/DakzVVXCoO...
i've submitted it to be on streaming services but it might take a few weeks. it won't be on spotify because spotify is too evil. here's a clip to tide you over:
drew some skulls last night. can't decide if i like them with an attempt at shading or not. hashtag skull saturday
yesterday i drew and painted a biomechanical man-eating, fire-breathing, volcano-dwelling clam based on a request from a discord server i'm in
i made music for an animated short and it will be screened at the Galway Film Fleadh on 12 July www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/project/iris...
i painted a warhammer 40k war dolly with oil paints and enamel washes like it's old fashioned times. it's just another miniature monday.
walked around depressed and took photos of cats with a red filter and black and white film pentax k1000 // smc pentax-m f1.7 50mm w/ hoya r1 pro red filter // agfaphoto apx 400 (pushed to 1600) // 10 - 15 may 2026 //
walked around depressed and took photos of cats pentax k1000 // asahi smc pentax f2.8 105mm & smc pentax-m f1.7 50mm // kodak aerocolor iv 2460 (pushed to 400) // 18 - 23 april 2026 //

did some drawing practice using this 1898 watercolour costume design as reference
trying not to look at social media as part of Project Get Off The Computer so i practiced drawing with a sketch of a still from Andrei Tarkovsky's The Mirror (1975)
here are some work-in-progress shots. it's all part of Project Get Off The Computer
warhammer is expensive so i made my own creatures out of wire, tin foil, paper, cork, and two part epoxy. i painted them in acrylics and inks and gave them a wash in oils to grub them up.
i loaded up my camera with respooled black and white motion picture film and realised i had nothing to shoot except local cats (i put the names i call them in with the alt text) pentax k1000 // asahi smc pentax f2.8 105mm // kodak eastman double x 5222 (overexposed at 200) // 05 - 13 april 2026 //
i painted it with oil paints and inks to get more natural gradients, which is much more horrible to look at than a "nice" paintjob
i couldn't get out to take photos, so i painted some wee plastic soldiers and backgrounds and had a photo shoot pentax k1000 // asahi smc pentax f2.8 105mm & smc pentax-m f1.7 50mm // fujifilm c200 (overexposed at 100) // 03 - 04 march 2026 //
gorgeous friday evening weather, so i spent it inside sketching kowloon walled city from photos in "city of darkness: revisted" by ian lambot and greg girard
i hadn't used my medium format folding camera in a bit and i did a hilariously bad job. i advanced past the first frame and didn't focus or expose correctly. that's gas. zeiss ikon nettar 515/16 // novar anastigmat f6.3 75mm // kodak gold [120] (overexposed at 125) // 15 - 20 february 2026 //
here are some work-in-progress shots. i've been limiting my time on social media and that frees me up to get into huffing different fumes
i made another boat out of a fish tin, waste plastic from diabetes equipment, lollipop sticks, gardening wire. i painted it with acrylics, inks, and washed it in oil paints.
i reread lord of the rings for the first time since i was a child and watched the extended editions of the films for the first time. i had a dreadful time. there's a lot of race science in those books and the films stumble into new uncomfortable territory. no wonder right wing billionaires love it
then tuned it to drop Ab and played "heavy friends" by boris a little bit wrong. but i had fun and that's all that matters
