#wipwednesday #writingcommunity i'm doing a small outline for TLGUH but there are scenes that were vivid enough for me to write. this was one of them. who knows if it will be in the final story but I do love it.

'she’d known. of course she had, she’d seen it just moments ago so clearly she’d wanted to rail against anjum’s parents for putting this weight on ruhaan. she’d wanted to yell at them for leaving their daughter alone. she’d wanted to cry and ask why anjum hadn’t been enough for even one of them to stay, why they’d both put their lives at risk over and over when they’d had a child who loved them and only ever wanted ma and pa with them. why was their work, their duty more important than their daughter?

why was maahi not enough for her parents to have stayed home that day?'

She could still see it though, no matter where she dropped her gaze. Unblinking, accusing gazes staring back at her asking why she hadn’t done more. Why she’d been powerless.

today's #wipwednesday is not the story i was planning to hype for #RomComMarch but fits the theme anyway. I do need to get back to it. A love story written in the POV of a third party has been so much fun to write.

'Around Zoya though? Around Zoya he was rigid, jaw tight. Shalini would have mistaken him for disliking her if not the fact that she was privy to the conversation behind a pillar – and the fact that now she was looking, she saw that so was he. At Zoya, constantly, eyes following her movements not with disdain or irritation or even worry but a deep intensity that could not be faked. An awareness of her that Zoya clearly felt as well if the way she never looked back was any indication.'

'That no one has told you how good you are is a travesty I intend to correct. Your relationship with the family by your side might be a happier one now, but I can read between the lines, my dear, and your past still plagues you. Your future, I hope, will be brighter. Will be filled with the appreciation and care you deserve.'

There is as much faith in them as he has held for her. Her voice is steady and soft when she speaks, not an order but encouragement. A tease, if one were to look carefully, hope wrapped up in words he should respond to more than any that would highlight his wounds. “On your feet, gladiator. This fight is not over.” His eyes light up, his lips curl up at the corners slightly.

Their paths diverged, but that didn't change the fact that she'd been ready to be his wife once.

“You lied.” Maahi had no reason to feel this betrayed, to have tears clogged in her throat. “To her.” She could hold on to that though, pretend all this hurt was for the kid and none of it was because she trusted him.

He was still where he stood at the broken gate, not in the way he usually was, with a calm and peace that she knew was hardwon, but stiff and – she thought – scared. Maahi did not like the look of it but she did not swallow back her words. “What did you see?” he finally asked softly, as disinclined to look at her as she was to him.

Maahi glanced at the lighthouse, the only movement in the upstairs window telling her Anjum was both out of sight and out of hearing. “A boat,” she murmured, soft anyway. “There was only one boat, and you took it.”
