Doing a bit of house keeping, I came across a Mayan-based glyph block I did for a frend. Cashmerelito (using the glyphs Kax-mo-li-to) a mythical Central Amercan animal that you get wool from. Going for a more contemporary take, I'm still pretty pleased with it.

Hew-mon artist, quote with your cyberpunk art!

A street thug prepares for battle. She is dressed in a selection of courier garments (shorts, poncho and oother gear), taken from beaten foes. She is armed with a shok-baton & electro knucks, and deployed the memory plastic razors on one of her boots.

A brokerage mage looks at a visualisation of stock prices. Her costume shows she is adept in currency manipulation, but her high collared stab-blouse and ballistic mask & hat, show she often deals wth the dangerous clients.

A corporate security operator. Although heavily armoured, she wears loose fitting clothing, including her trousers which are decorated wih the sigals of her former unit. Her body armor denotes she is part of the Panther Legion, and which campaigns she fought in.

A freelance intrusion specialist takes a moment to upbraid a pushy client, and that they wll conact them when they are a little less busy.

A quick and dirty tribute to Jennell Jaquays' Griffin Mountain cover from the hey day of RuneQuest

A warrior battles the undead, under the light of the Red Moon. He is attired in dragon-skin armour, with his helmet (vaguely in the shape of a stylised duck head), adorned with a yellow feather plume. Hiis face is covered, from forehead to chin, with a death rune tattoo with matching truth runes on his cheeks.

With all the excitement about the Supergirl, I was reminded that the same team that did The Woman of Tomorrow comic, also did Helen of Wyndhorn. What if Robert E Howards hard drinking, orphaned, teen daughter went to live with her granddad, Conan the Barbarian. Give it a read. It's beautiful

OK, based purely on a photo in a write-up of films that tanked, I decide to watch The Empty Man. Desite under utilising an _amazing_ creature design, it wasn't bad. Serious Delta Green vibes, with nods to films like Kill List & Hereditary. Creature design by Ken Barthelmey, who is a personal fave.

But her newer work has softened somewhat, still unsettling for the most part, but warmer and less clinical. But it's the little things that blew me away. The translucency of teeth, or the depth of the eyes. How the sclera merges into the iris. Superb

Another of Savilles portraits, of a young woman. Loose line work is covered by softer pastels then almost fluorescent pastels are deposited on top. But the eyes are like pools. It is hard to tell where sclera gives way to iris, and then to pupil.

I've been feeling down for some months. Just not happy with where my art is going. So I went to see the Jenny Saville show at the NPG. Damn that woman can paint. No one can make a picture both alluring and horrifying at the same time like her.

A portrait by Jenny Saville, in oils on linen, over drawn with pastels. It shows a portrait of a young woman, her lips seem almost be stitched closed using bright pastel wax. Her eyes, like almost all of Savilles' portraits, are deep and haunted.
