Not real (unless he deleted it). But these are real (screensnapped them myself). He has a simple strategy... demonize a label (in this case "communists"), then call everyone a communist. During the McCarthy era they DID imprison people they labeled as communists and many others lost their jobs.

I love Europe but when you remove all the trees it gets hot. Stones absorb and radiate heat (which is okay in winter, not so great in summer). Deciduous trees provide shade in the summer and drop their leaves to let the sun through in winter. Savannah, GA, on the right.
The cuts/chips/cracks are not in the blue #ReflectingPool liner. They're in a narrow strip of calking over foam that lines the periphery above the pool liner and below heavy granite slabs. They drove heavy equipment along the edge of the pool and up and down a ramp which could have compromised it.
Look at the heavy equipment on the edge of the pool, pressing down on the granite slabs. That's the general area of the claimed "cuts" to the pool. They also had ramps there. The photos show damage to the SIDE molding of the pool, not the liner. Could the pressure of heavy equipment cause cracks?
There's a monetary incentive to claim vandalism (cuts are not in the blue paint-liner, they're in a narrow strip around the periphery above it). If it's contractor error, the contractor should have to do it again. If they claim vandalism, they will use MORE of our taxpayer $millions to fix it.
If you look at photos not all the damage looks like knife cuts. Some look like cracks and chips. Their machines put a lot of pressure on the granite slabs. It's possible the weight pushed the slabs down against the calked foam molding running around the periphery. Why is there no video of vandals?
They released photos of the claimed #ReflectingPool vandalism. Not knife cuts in the blue liner-paint, it was slits/cracks/cuts to the molding ABOVE the liner that runs horizontal around the edge. Is it possible driving heavy machinery over the edge, like this, could have pressed down the stones?

Is it possible the contractors discovered the sealant strip wasn't adhering properly and pulled at it to see how bad it was and how much would chip off? There must be some reason the contractor said not to report it. Apparently someone did and Trump morphed it into a 350' gash in the bottom liner.
Opinions? I've renovated several houses. Materials (both external and internal) tend to look a certain way when they age or deteriorate due to temperature stress. To me, this looks more like wear and tear than vandalism but I'd like to hear what professional contractors think. #ReflectingPool

Fences were still up. Surely there would be video if someone breached them to make cuts in the side of the foam (not sure what that would accomplish, but it wouldn't affect the liner). These may be cuts, but FYI, certain materials when flexed can crack in ways that look like cuts. #ReflectingPool
They've now revealed a few photos of cracks or cuts in the foam strips that go along the edge of the pool above the liner. The cuts in the foam would not have caused the liner to lift (assuming they are cuts, I know from doing renovations that cracks from flexing some materials can look like cuts).
