@artyskunk
Full time skunk, part time golden retriever. I love to make your convention something special to remember.
My locals furry chat is the a handful of us in our mid 40s and lots of college age to 30ish year olds. Every so often I notice these media gaps. They dont know who put the peaches in a can. I have no idea wtf Drake & Josh is, I was graduating college when that came out. Found another last night.
Also.. we are watching the dub and I'm hearing this cat talk. Man that cat sounds really strangely like... Phil Hartman? Who is that? Oh its Phil Hartman. Wtf.
Weekend purchases scouring the Anthrocon dealers den for skunks and gifts.
So my wierd story for anthrocon, someone knocked on our door at 1am saying they hid some liquor in our room a year ago. It was just too late, we've got a dealers table to wake up to and all that, maybe later guys. The next morning I investigated though... and... uhh.. yep.
4th of July at #anthrocon was fun. I took my kigu and newer pup mask out. Not something I normally wear around. I wanted to wear the full fursuit but fireworks + contacts instead of glasses wouldn't be great. Anyway it was fun... little hot.
I am at Anthrocon, I saw someone in the elevator wearing 3 MFF lanyards so I had just pop in.. those look awesome! I suck at starting random conversations... I designed what you are wearing is the only hope I've got.
I'm going to do something scary tomorrow. I don't think I've actually fursuited locally, but its pride tomorrow so the rainbow dalmatian is coming out. 77 degrees is way better than its been in prior years.
I saw a goofy tik tok thing. Put a big handful of haribo with some sprite (i used zero), let them soak overnight, they absorb it all and double in size. Freeze and it makes a wierd frozen item. Entirely different texture, like a more solid Italian ice.
This is supposedly posted in a Walmart breakroom. The longer you look at it the worse it gets. Illinois is just depressed and needs to lay down for awhile.
TIL Microsoft is beta testing a copilot excel function where you plain language tell it what you want it to do. Telling excel "Do that thing, you know what I mean right" feels like its going to destroy a company. Could the deciphering of a phrase be different between 2 PCs?
Doing that thing at work where you show a slide and explain your history. 19 years working here, these are my past projects, show my dogs, heres a few hobbies. I've got this photo on the slide. It's a fun surprise in a meeting to explain that's not a photo op, I'm the dog.
I have 3 characters and one of them was basically coping with/orginally accepting being gay. That part of me has been just me for so long I haven't worn it in a long time. I never got great photos of this suit but memory wise these were special to me.
Huh.. this must be a thing I dont know. Literately where I am sitting right now
My mom worked at the post office and told me to write out addresses and dont worry if they are perfect. If its too hard to read, a person figures that out and thats a job. Its a culture shift that caring about jobs programs seems to not be a thing anymore. That may change though...
Hoppers is a really good movie. Now I just need to hope it does well enough for some background characters to get some merch...
I bought a game and thought it would be nice to have a little organizer insert for the pieces... so I googled it, found a link and printed them directly from my phone to my bambu. Why do ink printers still suck *so much* when I can print game inserts without even using a PC?
Working on an idea... I thrifted this photo hanging board thing from goodwill. I may rebuild the entire thing to something more classy or just consider the cost inspiration to make my own from scratch. Maybe nice leather snaps to hang them. Rebuild out of hardwood or do a resin project.
His name is Claddagh btw, because I'm 100% Irish. The claddagh ring is that symbol of 2 hands holding a heart with a crown. The symbol means loyalty + love + friendship and that describes a golden pretty well. (My mom also loves them) 4/4
So I finally decided to try another (2026) -- I love @ed.dog 's "boofers". They're cartoony and he can draw characters that are heavyset but it feels more like their personality. I love it! Dog -> Fursuit -> Fursuit Ref -> Character Ref. Kind of the opposite of normal path 3/4
Then I got a reference made based off the suit (2020) -- and it does the proper job of calling out all the important details and colors. However, since its based off a dude in a suit, it looks like a suit reference. Artists would take this and draw me like a football linebacker. 2/4
An interesting lesson I learned - I got an artistic inspiration suit design from @latinvixen.bsky.social which I still adore (2015), it was based off my old pup Conner. Its my preferred suit, its a decade old and still in perfect shape. 1/4
